Replacing GoPro lens with EagleVisionCam 12mm lens

Thank You This is the first proper explanation of WHY the lens needed to be changed. Prior to this video I was understanding that “the stock lens did not fit”, well it’s not about fitting inside of the Eagle Vision housing, it that the Stock lense is “too wide angle” and needs to be changed out for a narrower angle lense. This makes much more sense now.

Happy to help and thanks for watching Michael. It is still a slight faff to get the focus spot-on, with an iterative process of checking, then dismounting the GoPro to tweak the new lens slightly (one way or the other), then reassemble / check / repeat. Cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 Had to order the other lens. My silly self didn't read instructions correctly. The lens can have a o-ring put on to make tighter for new 1. No problem on the focus though. Just be careful threading this . Thanks for response and all help.

hi bro, I have the same set as you. Eagle vision lens 1/1.18 12mm m12x0.35 is much better than this one inside hero 7 black ? I ask about recording by eagle visioncam scope mount and recording other things than only shooting. I would like to use gph7black for other recordings, not only for shooting - throught the scope records. I think this eagle vision lens is good only for recording scope shooting image. What do you think about it ?

Yep this EVC lens is specific to through-scope use, you would have to be changed back for another before you can use it for other recordings. Cheers. Russ

Hi there, as I explained @2:00 the GoPro 7 is the most advanced model that allows you to change the lens. You need to change the lens for a narrower-angled/FOV lens in order to record through a riflescope, so no I don't believe you can use your GoPro9 with this unit. Hope this helps, cheers. Russ

Paul Some folk don't mind phone adapters, some folk want something slightly cheaper and that doesn't put their phone at risk of damage. I can definitely see benefits of using a GoPro over a phone/phone adapter. Cheers. Russ

Ok Russ I sort of understand, changing the subject now that the Pard NV800 is on full sale just about everywhere looking forward to the Pard V Whaith, no colour for the Wraith but it does have audio. Will be great to see the NV comparison.

@@paulmaddison2507 Yep you and me both re the Wraith vs Pard comparison, I have a friend at GARC who has a Wraith (the one we briefly borrowed for a short video), so as soon as he can lend me that we'll do a more thorough comparison. Bruce and I are keen to review and compare the Wraith 4K too, which being 4K might well prove a better rimfire scope than the Pard. Cheers. Russ
