I don't mind damage on touch, if it makes sense. Fire elemental? yeah that's gonna hurt if you touch it. Acid blob? yeah, I can see it. A train coming at you at 60mph? yeah that's gonna be a on touch issue. Meh I guess I'm fine with any mechanic as long as it makes sense.

I agree, that mechanic always irritated me. As long as they don't use it as the default mechanic for all enemies, it's ok. If there is an obvious reason, like fire, whirling blades, it's fine. Just touching, not so much.

Train coming at you wouldn't be damage on touch but a direct hit ;) Splat talked about this as well, he's fine with it "when it makes sense". This game has some enemies that don't follow that pattern though and still hurt you when you touch them.

The visuals and music are on points, gameplay is fluid and dynamic, the guns look fun and satisfying, this is a fine bundle of joy. the blue triangle looking things in the bottom left hand corner are Teleports, you drop them to teleport back to the location once you place 2 of them.

You don't need both, they operate independently. If you only have 1 down hold T to teleport back to it.

That is electronic body music. The long standing experimental branch of anything that does not comes from an acoustic instrument. For the last decade cyberpunk art style is the focus of the genre. Currently my favorite artist is 'je suis sierra' or simply 'sierra' (the cute French girl). You should also check out 'aim to head'. They are one of the meta pillars of EBM.

Slick animations for melee and evade would really do a lot for this game. I'm surprised it made it this far into development with the placeholders. I'm assuming this was made by a very small team and their priorities are obviously elsewhere at the moment. There are really cool things about this game. Nice shoot, dodge, and melee animations are important for the presentation of these games. It'll look like and play like a completely different game when they're added.

I think the melee is a “shockwave” vs. a traditional melee attack which is interesting and part of the world building IMO

Ah yes the soundtrack i could really soak it in, really got an impression here! Definitely better than Dominas soundtrack. Edit: Sorry i add some constructive criticism here: When you talk about the soundtrack you could edit a part whereby you don't talk and let the soundtrack make an impression on its own. TB used to make it like that and i miss him dearly :(

Our ability to construct think or form connections in our head that have nothing to do with the outside word is uniquely human . If that can take a person as far as falling romantically in love with the Berlin wall, I think missing a person you appreciated for creating content you liked is not that far off. How does the progression system work? Are you unlocking weapons and buying single run upgrades or are you buying permanent boosts for your characters? Oddly enough the "A door has opened" style secrets from Doom were expanded massively in the Heretic and Hexen games and were so hated that they haven't been seen in any sizable quantity for 25 years or so.

It's good and all, but don't we dream of quality gems like Enter the Gungeon, Binding of Isaac, Dead Cells, etc.? There are too many twin-stick shooters that look promising and appealing to the eye, but sadly fall short and lack depth, polishing, and details. I want to like this game. I really do. But something is just off with the aiming that gives me crazy motion sickness. Let me be clear that I play TONS of games and none make me sick. But the way the screen pans slightly when moving the cursor is just unnecessary and nauseating to me. Am I literally the only one this bothers? I wrote to the devs to let them know, but I feel I'm alone in this observation.
