So true. I had a friend for 30+ years who became angry and bitter over time. Every several years, she had a meltdown and took her unhappiness out on me by picking a major nonsensical argument. I very recently ended the friendship because -- while she does have some very nice traits -- she became too much work to have as a friend and I always knew another nonsensical argument loomed in the future. She has major meltdowns with her other friends, so it wasn't just me.

I would be tempted to do that too but in the end, it may be easy to figure out who did it. If Amy and this group of friends is 5 people, let’s say, and all of a sudden 1 person stops talking to you and now you’re under investigation for fraud, it’s easy to figure out that Amy was the reporter. Another comment here said to let it go, it will come out in the open eventually. Whether that be another person, the government, work comp people, family, or God, it will bite this person in the but. So, why stress being that person to out another?

@@alinatamashevich3354 But it's not stealing if the workers comp has determined that she is eligible for what she's getting. I work for the post office and there's a poster on the wall in the break room that TELLS us to report it if we think a coworker is guilty of workman's comp fraud. It has a photo of a guy, at 8:00 am, visiting the doctor with his arm in a sling, and the same guy at 5:00 pm, rolling a bowling ball with the same arm that he "hurt". I wouldn't hesitate to report someone like that. They are stealing; plain and simple.

Playing devil's advocate here, but sometimes, there are disabilities that are not evident to the casual observer. This caller didn't say what the injury was that created the workman's compensation. You only know what the person has told you. Sounds more like this person is not a good "friend" with her badgering about not working and the "cut you off at the knees" comment. You are in your fifties. The people you knew in grade school are not the same people forty years later. Dave is correct here, time to move on from this "friendship". BTW, you have an acquaintance, not a friend. Move on and quit worrying about things and people you cannot change.

i have a sibling that was badly injured on the job and collected workers comp for several years. for about half the time he was fine and healthy. that said, it isnt fraud. people injured on the job have suffered immensely physically and mentally. my sibling was physically fine but terrified of going back to work because it almost killed him, so he didnt for several years. not only that but he wasa chronically depressed due to the level of suffering he'd endured, and became addicted to opoids due to being on painkillers for years. injuries leave marks you cant see. dont judge people with injuries that you havent had. from the outside it may look like theyre living life and having a great time but the truth is most of these people have a justification for still being on workers comp, as they have to justify it to workers comp itself. this lady to me seems to be overly invested in what other people are doing and needs to mind her own damn business. the arrogance of assuming you are the arbiter of whether or not someone should or could go back to work is appalling.
