One thing that helped me to win 1v1's is that when i enter the pvp area i decide if i want to pvp or not, then i either go in and fight right away or try to avoid players altogether. Very often i died cause i wasn't sure if i want to fight, or should i try to flee, or maybe fight, or... and im already dead. Be consistent in your decision. And pick gear skills based on that decision, dont do half measures.

Having a back up plan always helps, for example on the spec part of the game, if you invest your silver specing your main build at some point even if you die only with 8.2 and 8.3 you'll still be able to farm t8 pve mobs with t5-t6 build, my case in the mists/abbeys I'm still working being mentally fine with using more than 8.1, I played 800h and I haven't have many ocasions playing 8.2 and 8.3.
@VicZaneGaming7 ай бұрын
Very relatable. It's easier to enjoy 8.1 and have fun with it and in my experience most people find it more profitable to run t8 or 8.1 and not higher.
@bettersuppwins7 ай бұрын
@@VicZaneGaming I think it also depends on the weapon, for example the case of the high mobility builds like bloodletters that can choose when and who to fight, they get more from the high spec as oposed to my main weapon low mobility 1h curse where is not worth taking more than 8.1 with oc as you can kill 8.2 and 8.3 easily if they don't know what they are doing, and even if they do they have more to loss so they'll do more mistakes than me.

From my experience, go play and fight with one specific lower tier load out is a very good step. It unlocks you because you get comfortable with your gear and you start playing with less fear. Although, being ganged by many or really high tier enemies is always frustrating. After a point, not because you lose, but because you can't even learn. They make mistakes - no punishment due to their high def & life and your low dmg. You make the right play - you can't even notice as you are getting demolished regardless. I believe arena or pvp with players of similar tier (maybe hellgates) is the only way to understand the game. But I've seen very few people not trying to fight you without advantages. I was a solo player for years. I never end up being very good and ultimately I stopped playing, even if I still like the game. Maybe I am not the best to leave his opinion here, but hopefully it will be useful to someone.

I did something different in terms of spear build, i have a helion spear with a caitlif shield for extra cc, a royal helmet for another stun, soldier armor, and any plate boots. picking the reflext ability on the w. countering eny hard engages the enemy wants to do and if they keep committing activating soldier armor for a damage boost and increased cc duration. can counter almost any build even up to 100-200 ip higher
@VicZaneGaming6 ай бұрын
I love these sorts of out-of-the-box innovative ideas like what you described. It kind of feels like a sort of CC/melee dps build for group content and interesting for corrupteds. Unfortunately, as you probably have experienced, the lack of mobility of Heron Spear (especially with deflecting spin W) is very evident in the Mists. Still fun>>>efficiency so it's awesome you're playing it!

Hey Vic! I saw on your other video about hiding the UI but you're still able to see the nametags for any incoming enemies, when I disable the UI, it doesn't show the nameplates of nearby players, is there an option I missed on this?
@VicZaneGaming6 ай бұрын
I haven't come across this issue. There is a separate setting for enabling offscreen nametags (which should obviously always be on) but it should not be connected to recording mode in any way. Are you sure you are using recording mode specifically and not somehow disabling UI altogether?

I find it very hard to succed on the europe server with Spear. Many dual swords players, even switched from mercenary to hunter's hood for that reason. Do you have any recommendations agains melee players that are just rushing in your face?
@VicZaneGaming7 ай бұрын
In general against in-your-face-brawler builds you want to try to space them just enough to be able to hit Qs. Duals are kind of difficult though, I agree. Usually you need to get a decent HP advantage on them before you commit to a brawl. However, if you run cripple, they can't really match your mobility and catch you. Another option that has worked for me sometimes is to deflecting spin against their E since it's easy to react to and does decent damage. If haven't checked out my spear guide yet, there might be something there to help with your question as well - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIi8Y4yXpaZ0mtUsi=MtJbmSqZJnv_nsSH .

This should be required watching. Economy - an idea I've stolen from HEMA is a system I call the 'waster' system, named after cheap practice arms that, when they break, you get a new one. The idea is you have waster sets that are super cheap that you use to farm. If I make more than the waster set costs, I win. Next up is raider gear. This is still cheap, but strong enough for me to stand a chance of winning. Raider sets I take with the intent of seeking conflict, and knowing my odds are at best 50/50. Lastly there's Juggernaut sets. These are sets I use either A) in safe zones like yellow mists or B) If I'm rolling with a group who is going to support me. Ego - Trash talkers are interesting. Their ego comes from tearing you down. These players, should you succeed in killing them or just not playing by their rules, are most likely to ragequit or do something stupid. Ego isn't fully predictive of performance, but it's worth realizing top players will just kill you, because they're good at the game. End goal - PvP in Albion is a way to get something. Either you want someone's stuff or you want to stop someone from doing something. Rat-style PvP exploits this as a matter of course. This should inform our PvP combat builds, as we want certain situations to achieve our win conditions. Exposure - This is why I think new players should rush Mists. Rewards are good, and even yellow mists give helpful PvP experience. Rushing camps will teach you good mount technique and the lack of item loss lets you experiment before chancing black mists or the Outlands or Roads.

I watch your videos, and this shocked me. So I pay money for a game to escape reality (from some point of view) and I should be mentaly perpared.... ))) maybe I need hire a coach and psychologist then... for a video game? In fact I try Albion right now and thank you for your vids. But I think this is to way grind game. The gap between new players and old to high, I can wear some builds around 100k but this is not for PvP. I think I need spend around 1 year to lvling specs and gather silver. Or simply buy it. Which makes this game pay to win, the same as EvE online which I've dropped because of it. :( huh... Sad. Really sad.
@macgeraАй бұрын
BTW ego it's problem for many games) But if you ever play EvE online ego, and economy it's not an issue. Issue is the gap. I wanna PvP already, I can afford 900-1000 IP. But Winning PvP... I guess I am unlucky and only meta builds (I so fkin tired in games that stupid devs create meta's, because can;t in math and balance), only meta, only 7-8 tier. I can find ok PvP only in yellow zones mists and even kill someone But this is don't give me kill in the book.
@VicZaneGamingАй бұрын
I'm glad you like the videos! Didn't mean to shock you :) But Albion can certainly be competitive and has very strong mental components! You don't need a coach or psychologist just for this but it's true that the solo PvP side of the game is not very casual-friendly. Getting enough specs and silver to meaningfully compete is not difficult and will not take that long but fact remains that there is no matchmaking system in Albion which means that you will repeatedly end up fighting against players with thousands of hours more of experience so it's a difficult learning curve. Hope you find ways to enjoy it without sadness :)))
