I so enjoyed this series, Diane! Long ago, I purchased a small decorative wooden "pamper box" for the end table on my side of the sofa in our family room. I put in a note pad, a pen, my reading glasses, a cloth for cleaning my glasses, my favorite lip balm, cuticle cream, and hand cream. But over time, it turned into this "catch-all" for when I tidied for the evening, and anything on the end table just got chucked into the box. Um, it was a lot, and it always made me grumpy to dig through everything only to find my hand cream was empty or my lip balm was nearly used up, etc. So during your series, I sat down and pulled everything out of that box, gave it a good cleaning and polish, and placed back only my pamper items, including new hand cream and lip balm. Then I took 10 minutes and put everything else that had landed in the box back where it belonged in the house. It was lovely last evening when I could open my little wood box and not have to dig through all the flotsam and jetsam 😂to use my pamper items. Thank you for your creativity and encouragement! You make a lovely difference in all of our lives.

Without fail, your cheery “ok, bye for now!” at the end of every video makes me smile, warms my heart and helps me to feel positive and optimistic that I CAN do this! 💖 This week, I too have (still have!) got a case of the “blaaahs”, but the encouragement to set a timer and do SOMETHING for 10 minutes, and seeing the results of what can be accomplished in a small amount of time, and the feeling of calm this brings is amazing, so thank you! 🥰 Will keep putting one foot in front of the other 👣 will keep being ‘faithful in the small things’, and make an effort to notice the beauty that is around me if I only look 👀 and be grateful! 🙏🏼 Thank you again! 🌻 xx

Taking my daily temperature was the thing that surprised me the most in terms of how it helped me. I will work that habit in to my day. It’s been a tough 10 months, I lost both parents, had to go thru all their stuff, sell their house, be a caretaker, & I work full-time, I’m trying to reset my life again now. I’ve been “stuck.” I’m looking forward to keeping this up & continuing to improve. I’ve gotten thru the last few months some days on routines alone, with a little more on the days I could. After a 2 year break, I’ve finally started Zone Work again but I’ll start with baby steps there too. Thank you for all the ongoing motivation.

I wore a pretty dress to work earlier in the week, it made me realise that I need to take a bit more pride in my appearance. I’ve loved the daily check ins and the missions. I’m not in full health so sometimes I can’t do 10 mins but I can do two lots of 5 mins. I’m going to be more aware of self care. I think of your Mum taking her morning tea break!

Thank you Diane for your cheerful support and reminders to take a little care of ourselves. This week I have had a few sea swims , a couple of trips out in the car to some lovely places where we sat and enjoyed drinks and ice cream and cake. We went out for a few meals and one evening I enjoyed a pink gin and lemonade at home. I also bought some wonderful baklava and another day treated myself to an inexpensive perfume . As a fulltime carer to my darling husband I have to keep my spirits up and being intentional in doing some self care is so helpful. Yor videos are so motivating . Thank you. We are still melting in the heat here in Cyprus so I am still enjoying my frappes especially when a friend makes it. Have a wonderful weekend. xxxx Margaret in Cyprus

Hi Laura, I was at the same point three years ago. The spare bedroom designated as my craft room, had turned into a dumping ground for everything! It played on my mind everyday until I stumbled upon a few decluttering videos here on YT, one of which is Diane. The sensible but gentle advice encouraged me to tackle that room. Many, many times I felt so overwhelmed and was reduced to tears; tears of frustration, tears that I had been so stupid to have allowed the place to get like it. I wanted to run away! Somehow, by continuing to watch people such as Diane, each one having a slightly different take on the subject, I plodded on. I took each day as it came and also gave myself the grace to not do any sorting if I didn't feel up to it. Sadly there is no magic wand we can use, it needs us to keep plodding on as often as we can, and keep hold of the end result. I still do jot have the room of my dreams, but I can see the whole floor, everything is in cupboards and I feel extremely good standing in there with all that space! I will be taking one shelf at a time in each cupboard and fully expect that will take me another year, if it gets done earlier, that's a bonus! I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is not a quick job, but by chipping away at it things get better. My health improved, my husband and I become closer, we started laughing more - but the room wasn't anywhere near finished. The knock on effects are hundred-fold! Keep going, you can do this. Little by little. I'm cheering you on. Let me know how you're getting on. Debra xxx

Taking our temperature daily! By doing so I've realised I was (or maybe still am) on the verge of a burnout - but at the same time, seeing the quick improvement in "temperature" just by doing a small self-care task really encouraged me and motivate me to keep going (as opposed to before, where I would just "give in" and "accept" this is how I'm supposed to feel, with a lost spark).

The daily evaluation of the house and myself. Watching the correlation was interesting. I have been painting furniture instead of the assignments this week. August is anti procrastination month for me. So I added comments to the temperatures; like, had medical procedure or didn’t sleep well or spent time in the garden. The second most helpful was the meals. It was so fun and really did inspire menu planning. I loved learning about foods I had never heard of. Thank you for the retreat this week💚 affordable, accessible, enjoyable, beneficial. Such a gift.

A brilliant week and the idea of piggybacking self-care onto things we are already doing will make it easy to continue through autumn and winter. Also using a timer for self-care - it's so useful for doing tasks and using it for self-care means it does happen without disappearing into KZbin or whatever and "loosing" a few hours!!! The comments have been so interesting too. Hugs and woofs 🐕🐾💞

The directions where to clean or declutter and the selfcare right afterwards helped me the most. I found it was enough housework done with the 10 minutes of extrawork and I felt a relief and I also didn’t feel overwhelmed. And I didn’t have a bad conscience for not doing enough in the home (I often have that feeling). So I did less and felt better! Woohoo! Thank you!

Diane, you have been my guilty pleasure all week! This is the first time for me to watch you every day - in a row, as I am new to your channel, but a 20+ yr Flybaby. (I even used FL Premium at one point). I love the pamper basket idea, I have yet to figure out a good location, but it is coming along and will be incorporated in my daily routines. Take a daily temperature was great too, I see how my numbers went up, from Monday (dropping our last kid off at University to become empty nesters) was pretty low, to a higher number by today. Went biking yesterday and kayaking this morning and will be taking my 4pm Friday night bath tonight - while husband grills dinner. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you so much for the reset week… it has motivated me to keep at it (despite working shifts), but even more importantly my selfcare numbers have changed from a 3 to a 6… I guess part of it was the realisation that spending time playing games on the mobile isn’t really selfcare. 🙈😬 Yes it’s fun, but it doesn’t revive as much as drinking my coffee outside, snuggling with my dog or doing my nails and make-up and using an extra spritz (or squoosh squoosh 😂) of my favourite perfume. Thanks again and a hug back 🤗❤️

YOU Diane! You we're what helped/s me. Your attitude, your uplifting spirit even when you had the blahs, your honesty, but also grit- your commitment to yourself, to us, to mental health, and to helping others. I benefit from the daily video posted early in the AM (for me at least in USA). And the small nature of the missions. I had a sick day so wasn't able to get to that day, but you know what it was: just finish your routines! So perfect, and as a seasoned flybaby I knew the addage: "You're not behind, don't try to play catch up". YOU, Diane, helped me to keep believing in myself, and to remember that small actions build up to consistency and to help remember that consistency isn't a mythical creature that shows up one day, but it does depend on action I can take now. And then again and again and again. The pairing the missions with self care helped me. Setting a timer is always helpful for me (ADHD).

I live in almond growing area in California and harvest is happening (shaking trees and vacuuming up nuts and blowing dust is unbelievable.)I could dust twice a day with no relief. Now I have started cutting myself some slack…self care is underrated. We tend to think it has to be a big thing.. but just reminding myself of little things I enjoy daily (like my morning coffee 😍) has helped. I even made a snack basket for tonight!! 🥳 Thank you for this boost and reminder that we are important enough.

For me, it has been very comforting to have a daily check-in, with the self/house temperature taking. Even when I'm feeling low, it is good to ask the question - how am I today? or How do I feel about the house today? Awareness is the first step to change I believe. I loved the 10-15 minute tasks (house and self-care). And the little extra mission. I felt that was something I COULD do each day. And it helped to know we were all doing that together. thank you so much Diane. I live in the Pennsylvania in the US, but my father's side is Danish so it is good to connect with what feels very familiar in my soul. I am definitely a Hygge lover.

I am doing this for the second time, and it helps so much to just have a focus In the midst of feeling overwhelmed. Setting the timer and doing something for the house for ten minutes and something for myself for 10 minutes has been the most helpful. I tend to think I need a whole hour for self care, but just taking ten minutes at a time helps me see that it can fit in throughout the day. Doing ten of each is a good reminder that I need to balance the two all day long.

I think the self care basket helped me the most - first, putting it together helped me *remember* all the things I like doing, and getting them out from the cupboards / drawers etc; second, having the basket IN VIEW all week reminded me to take little breaks... and third, somehow it also instigated me to set out a slightly 'fancier' outfit each morning which technically wasn't in the basket but is a self-care thing too!

I just love your message, Diane 🤩. I like how setting the timer to take some time to "do nothing productive at all" during my workday somehow helps me to give myself guilt-free "permission" to space out and relax for a bit - no matter how many urgent things I might have hanging over my head (ex. work project). I can certainly take 15 minutes for MYSELF and this will not cost me any time, because I am refreshed afterwards and can focus much better. Learning to put myself first has been a life-long lesson for me. But I am finally getting it! You have helped me tremendously over the past several years. 💞

All my Swedish grandparents always had coffee and something sweet around 3:30 when my grandfathers got home from the factory. Grandma always had a pretty cloth on the table and used her pretty cups and saucers. Romance the ordinary was what they just naturally did.

This week of (re)treat videos has been so incredibly helpful! I feel like I've made some real progress and improvement in my house. I loved the set timer to declutter and then the timer to pamper. And making a pamper basket this week really reminded me what types of things I had and that I need to be using them regularly. I'm also trying to set up meeting one of my friends once a week all these practices has been great and I'm going to try doing these things weekly. Thank you for all your help and encouragement!

I just wanted to say I am so thankful you did this week. I needed it. I am renting an apartment and insects appeared last Friday. Just waiting on maintenance to come on Tuesday. So moving decluttering items fast.

I’ve had a mega busy week so not really had time to fully take part. However taking my temperature for myself & home was really an eye opener for me. Thank you Diane ❤️👍🏻

I am going to add an extra 10 minutes to my afternoon routine to de-clutter any room that needs extra help, does not have to be that weeks zone. I am also going to add a pamper session to both my morning and evening routines, and will have a small pamper basket in each room to dip into when the mood takes me. Incorporating a plan & play day will also be a good idea I think, will have to see how that goes, I haven't bothered with it in the past. I have found this week most useful as it has made me concentrate on what I am lacking in my life and how to amend it. I have slept better, and my daily routines have felt easier. I don't ever skip my routines, unless very unwell, but sometimes I struggle to find the energy or motivation but have found this less of an issue as the week has gone on. It has been interesting to read the comments and to feel less alone knowing that others are having the same issues, and also like much of the same things I do, I don't get much of that with the people I usually interact with in my daily life. Thank you so much Diane.

I have watched the videos over the last couple of day and find you so positive and motivational. I have managed to get my morning and evening routine better. Doing the little things that help the day go well. It doesn’t take long but makes such a different. Thank you x

I have appreciated you so much this week, Diane! For me, the self care helped me realize that I'm worth it! Having been caregiver to my elderly mother, I've let that slip the last few years. Thank you ❤️

Hi from AZ, setting time aside for myself has been the biggest take away..I have always taken care of others and really in the last 10 yrs have forgotten to do that for me..amazing what a little pamper can do for your spirits. I love your videos, they bring a smile all the time, and I just look forward to seeing you. Have a great weekend💜

The reminder of Self Care & "we make our own sunshine" was the most helpful. Thanks for your efforts Diane! 🌞

I’ve really loved all your videos this week ❤ I’ve found that taking my temperature each day has been the most helpful thing and made me realise that thanks to all your previous motivational videos I’m actually doing really well. I’m going to keep doing it as it will be a great motivator to keep the balance right or find ways to bring it back up if it starts to slide. You really are fabulous, thank you so much 🙏🏻❤

Thank you. It was fun. Gave me something to look forward to each day. I think the pamper basket made a huge difference for me. I'm actually taking that little break for myself each day now.
