Or how about the anxiety when you realized your not really aiming the gun as it shoots whatever you're looking at. Most horrible idea for aiming in VR. They need to figure out how to patch in move controllers and I'll be happy. Otherwise it's basically and $60 plastic case collecting dust. When games try and grab VR players by rushing a VR plug in, it ruins the whole experience.

SPOILERS BELOW: Actually there is a possible explanation for why Ethan's reaction to pain and injuries is tamer than you would expect. It is heavily implied that the second Ethan walked onto the Baker estate and started breathing the same air as Eveline, he was infected but not deranged, just like Zoe. The infection lessens pain and gives the host rapid healing abilities, hense why Zoe only had to staple his hand onto the stump on his arm in order to reattach it and he only needed to pour medicine onto severed body parts in the future. This is supported by the fact that he was able to see Eveline's hallucinations and spoke to Jack through their mind link.

His reactions to injury and to his lost wife showing up were indifferent and way too tame for the context. After his hand is fixed, it can be argued he has the fungus in his system, but since no effects manifest and it isn't explored in the game, it isn't right to assume it's true.

RE 7 is a good game, but it should not have been a mainline RE game in the series. RE 7 was made with VR as the main focus. This game would be better called as a spin-off series like RE VR.

well I mean Ethan is forgettable as a character. he is wooden and lacks empathy. the game has only the story, no mercenaries, raid or other spin offs that aren't tied to dlc. content feels cut off for season pass and dlc cash ins. final boss was rushed, sloppy and heavily scripted. enemy variety is lacking (three mold types and bugs). VR is nausea inducing and makes graphics really low resolution. graphics are low res to accommodate VR and PC players already cracked re7 with denuvo. I mean it isn't a bad game at all. 7/10 is a good score that shows it has promise but not enough to convince me it is like the originals.

It makes sense that Ethan's characterisation is weaker than that of Leon, Chris, Ada or whatever. He's a first person character, a plot device for us gamers to immerse ourselves into the world with. I'm not saying first person protagonists can't have a strong personality, but only when that is more important than the environment, i.e Duke Nukem. Case in point, the hell do we know about Gordon Freeman, or Chell?

So, in reply to some of the negative things said about Ethan: There's a file in Resident Evil 5 referring to all of the Umbrella doctors Wesker killed. The final name is Ethan W. (Winters is Ethans last name) This could mean that Ethan used to work with Umbrella and somehow isn't dead after Wesker supposedly killed him. Him working for Umbrella could be the reason why 1:He doesn't react too much to what he's seeing, 2: has the antibodies that could heal him/keep him from being infected, 3: Keeps searching for his wife and 4: Reacts as if he knew Umbrella were coming.

Yeah I feel like people are pretty dumb when they say this isn't a resident evil game when comparing to older titles. I loved the older games and the remakes but honestly if hadn't changed when it did in 4 I would have lost interest. 5 and 6 tried to expand on 4 and didn't do it well. However I did like 6. First main series game to introduce aiming AND still be able to move. Anyway I'm happy with RE7. It's nice the series had another major gameplay change and hopefully it's next game don't fuck it up. Clearly the star of this show is gotta be Other Joe. With his plethora of expressions in the acting of the characters really brings out the life of the characters Other Joe portrays. Without a shadow of a doubt, a solid 10/10 performance by you guys. Excellent job!

No because RE 1 remake was beautifully redefined, with graphics, weaponry, voice acting, monsters, as well as different modes to play. I look forward to the RE 2 remake and possibly an RE 3 remake because they are sooooo overdo for one. It doesn't hurt the advancement of the series at all, only the creators can fuck that up.
