I absolutely adore this game. Of course this spawned some.... questionable RE action titles but this game saved the franchise. I’ve bought this game like 5 times on different consoles. It’s just pure fun, I will play this once in awhile for literally the rest of my life and never get bored. You know how some people have that one piece of media they wish they could relive for the first time? This is mine. My first play through of this game was UNFORGETTABLE.

Watching these marathon videos has made me realize just how many good games there are in this franchise. It's wild for a series to have so many games with so few misteps. Even the "duds" like re3remake aren't bad, they just don't reach the heights of the series greats.

RE4 has the best intro, when it was the newest RE game and zombies where "done" we had no idea what to expect. The built suspense and cockybess of leon was perfect. The tone of the entire game is portrayed in the first 2 min. It doesn't need action or a CG set piece. The full 3D environment and over the shoulder was enough to make the world feel real back then.

I find Bawk funny. When ever he pretends to be scared or pretends to not know what he is doing, that stuff hilarious. I hope that the remake manages to find a sweet balance between the excellent "serious" writing of the recent remakes and the cheesy parts of this one. Village might be a good template for that (it also has a merchant, birds drop money for some reason...)

Its funny I love this game; I really do, but I always had mixed feeling about it. Not only in visual design but also with how linear it is, and how meh the story is. I can imagine a game like 4 but with the castle section being a metroidvania\ RE1\2 style Mansion section just elevating the game to even greater heights.

I totally agree with bawk when it comes to re4. It did save the franchise when it originally came out and I totally get why this is a lot of people's fav re title,and a huge amount of those people haven't played other re games or just 1 other. I personally think re4 is totally fun and enjoyable, I re play it every year, but it isn't my fav. If they do a re4 remake, once again I agree with bawk, I don't think capcom would screw it up because 1.they learned from the re3r, 2.re4 is Def like the most fav over all fan base wise so it makes a lot of sense for capcom to put a lot of time,money and employees on it. Re2r was wonderful because they put a large amount of people on it, they knew re2 is a favorite etc, re3r got a smaller team and a whole different team over all, and clearly rushed. I'd hope capcom learned from that.... if re4 is your fav out of all re games then thats fine, nothing wrong with that, and there's nothing wrong with saying it isn't your fav. Bawk is totally correct when he says there is a resident evil title for everyone and also people struggle to accept the fact that not everyone is the same and just because they have a different opinion, doesn't make them stupid or w.e. . Like what u like and let others like what they like. Have fun with the games and stop wasting time throwing shade.

Watching these streams so late at night, Bawk always ends up in my dreams. Seriously, and they're usually lucid too. Like, a few nights ago, my dream consisted of Bawk and I trying to find this yellow python inside of this abandoned office complex, at least that's where I think we were. I recall fighting the snake in the parking lot, and eventually being bit. Bawk tossed me some Gatorade and he claimed that it heals poison. When I took a drink, I saw the RE2 Remake health HUD in the corner of my eye. It went from poisoned to fine condition. I can't remember much more, other than Bawk's awkward yet random presence in my dream.
