Chris Redfield became a star in RE5, so for me, the RE5 Chris Redfield will always be my favorite design, with Roger Craig Smith as his voice. Whenever I think of him, that's the image I picture in my head.

Definitely agree. 👍 In general the Chris designs we got during the RE5 era just really are the definitive Chris look. Chris is my favorite character, and those looks tend to be the first ones I think about when he crosses my mind.

I love that the whole black turtle neck, open jacket and notched lapel collar outfit that chris redfield wears in resident evil 8 village is clearly inspired by and looks near identical to the same one that he wore in resident evil 6. I'm glad that capcom decided to bring back that style of outfit for him again as it looks really cool and it was a nice little nod to resident evil 6.

Never got this "autism face syndrome" people has with Chris, he has been looking the same from Revelatiom, 5, 6 and even Remake1 if you look it's model next to 5. RE8 is just a more realistic version of 6, and unlike 7, when Chris showed up in RE8 reveal trailer, you know it's Chris.

I was extremely happy when I saw that capcom had listened to their fans within the resident evil community and took the massive backlash and criticism they had received on chris redfields redesign used in resident evil 7 biohazard to heart and changed it back to the good old classic chris redfield design that people have grown to know and love from past entries in the series like resident evil 5, 6, revelations 1 and vendetta. The new redesign of him they used for resident evil 7 biohazard was my only and biggest issue I had with the entire game hands down especially coming right off of playing the other games in the series and watching the anime movies. I still remember beating resident evil 7 biohazard for the very first time and at the end of the game when the soldiers come rappelling down the ropes from the helicopter I genuinely thought that the blue umbrella guy in full gear was hunk. Next thing you know he takes his helmet off and he's like "I'm redfield." and no joke I was like "What the heck? No you're not who the fuck are you and what did you do with the real chris redfield?" His new redesign they used for resident evil 7 just looked bad, looked nothing like the character period and genuinely made a lot of other fans like me super confused if it really was chris redfield or not to the point where capcom knew they messed up on the redesign. Super happy that capcom listened and chris redfield looks like his good old self again in resident evil 8 village as it should be.

I think RE8 is definitely a top contender, personally his RE5 design is my favorite but his drip in RE8 is emasculate, his phisique actually looks realistic naturally and very much attainable by a normal person who has enough dedication, plus he looks so damn good in that turtle neck, overall Chris's design in RE8 is amazing and looks very realistic

@albertwesker9061 First off, what are you talking about steroids? Both games have chris with body builder like, but look at the forearms. The bigger issue is he's proportionally bad in re8. Biceps are huge but forearms are tiny. That part looks bad. Its genuinely less "realistic" chris is 6'1 than him being a military guy that lifts weight and has well-built arms in 5. The 8 version makes it look like his forearms would be too weak to support his biceps from a weightlifting standpoint. It's a propotion nightmare.

4 Designs I believe. PS2, Yakuza Kenzan, 3 and 4, Yakuza 5, Ishin, 0 and Kiwami 1 and the Dragon Engine. The PS3 Era design is my least favorite. Not bad. But it's meh. PS2 I'm growing with the more I see. Plus a Chad with his lines. I love the 0 Design. Perfects what he would look like in the 80's. Dragon Engine is really damn good honestly. Actually. The worst ones are PS2 Teenager Kiryu and Dragon Engine Teenager Kiryu. Looks so old. 0 Engine Teenager Kiryu is fine.

With Village it did seem Chris was channeling his inner Wesker, what with that jacket and turtleneck. Plus it wouldn't be the first time Capcom would tease their longtime hero had gone bad, what with Devil May Cry 4's opening and Dante laying waste to the Order of the Sword, only for it to later be revealed to be swerve. Next Best Design I'd like to see... Vergil from Devil May Cry and Ken Masters from Street Fighter!

In a way his best design is the RE5 one based on its iconic status amongst fans. However, I really don't understand the huge difference of his face ever since RE5. That's a whole different man. This is why the Chris design from the end of RE7 is unironically my favorite because he looked like the original Chris but more grizzled. I think the reason why that Chris seemed like a step back for you and other people is because the face design of RE5 is the one that most people remember and like, and it's also synonymous for his character growth, therefore the RE7 design felt like a regression of not only his look but also his characterization.

Honestly Re 7 is the only problem. Chris from Remake to Re 6 was pretty consistent. Leon always changed faces but Leon fanboys tend to be biased especially Re 4 fanboys.
