Hmm thanks! I have 510lbs in resistance via sunpow set of 5 so i assume even the bottom of the movement will be hard. Is there any point of using a straight bar with padding? Should keep band from cuts. Given that resistance starts low? Would that more simulate the traditional DL? And will using bands transfer over when i start deadlifting again? Finally, what is the extent of forearm involvement compared to a barbell, in general? Less, same or negligible? (Just some engagment questions for the algo, liked the vid) Ps just realized this vid is years old, so feel free to disregard questions if ya want. Either way!

These videos are great and your products look solid. I'm just hesitant to pay for international shipping (and the floor board is way overpriced for non-professional athletes and home gyms).

We appreciate the interest! The footplate is an interesting product, and the main reason for it's price is due to the fact that it is made from an extremely heavy duty industrial plastic that has some special properties to make it very strong and also low friction to allow the bands to slide easily on it. The material itself costs about 10x more than typical plastics, and cannot be molded using a conventional process like we use for our handles (which are much less expensive). The footplate starts off as a 24"x15"x1.5" solid block of material that weighs almost 15 lb, and it is then placed into a computer controlled machine that cuts out all of the features, grooves, handles, and geometry on the plate. This is quite time consuming and costly (it takes 90 minutes just to machine each part), but it does deliver a very solid product that is nearly indestructible (unlike typical plastic products). Many people assume that "it's just a plastic plate, why does it cost so much" and unfortunately, it is not a conventional plastic part so it cannot be compared to other household plastic items in terms of cost and price. I hope that helps explain the value of the Clench Footplate!

I agree. Having a plan and holding yourself accountable everyday is what it takes to make the lifestyle work. Physique changes don't happen overnight, so long term motivation is key. It certainly helps a lot when other people start noticing and provide encouraging comments like yours!

Would a pair of mechanics gloves be a good substitute if we don't have the band handles. The heavier bands kill the hands when trying to deadlift

How do you call those handles? Trying to find and buy,
Would be better with a plate as the bands cause the feet to curl inward. X3 has the idea but you should be thinking that way too and probably sell more bands with the plate.

Yes, when you lift heavy with bands, your feet can start to roll and lift off the ground. This is exactly why we have developed the Clench Footplate product. You can check it out in the video linked below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZ_GanuDo9iKb9U

When you use a heavier band it feels like I can barely hold on to the handles. Is there a solution?
@ClenchFitness2 жыл бұрын
Hey Amy, you could use lifting straps to help you hold on to the handles. The same lifting straps that work for dumbbells or barbells. Ultimately, you'll want to do some exercises that help to improve your grip strength as well, holding onto heavier weights requires more grip strength.
@Sharetheroad33332 жыл бұрын
@@ClenchFitness do you have a recommendation for something that would work with your handles and bands?

a green and a purple won't exceed the maximum amount of lbs. of resistance the clench handles can support? (i. e. I thought that the handles were designed to support up to 150lbs. of resistance?) is it that due to the amount of stretch being applied to the bands that they are not generating enough tension to equate to that amount of resistance?
