thanks I did some videos before and didnt feel like I conveyed that stuff so I figured out how to get the right camera angles and simple editing technique to do so. All my future videos will be a step up from my original stuff. Making videos was greek to me but doing the work is more my thing just had to get a happy medium to make it easier for people to learn easier ways to get stuff to look right.

I can't wait to get a 220 welder, right now I have a starter 110 flux core welder and I've been learning a lot with that little thing.
@vwbusguy5 жыл бұрын
@@JWClassicVW flux core is fine mate. It's all about practice. You need to have a rag in water to cool each weld individually if you want it to not warp. Or a compressor. Flux core dose the exact same thing as gas just a bit more cleanup, but it will need finishing with a file or grinder anyway so it doesn't matt eer what you use.

I don't know how many amps your 110 in your garage is, but if I have to use a 110 welder it makes a world of difference between a 20a and a 15a circuit. I cheat, I use an adapter for the 220v welder/plasma cutter plug to a 110v. Just an idea. I agree 220 is way better. Great video! Your bus is moving right along.

Do you have a bead roller? If you quickly ran a 1mm step to the repair panel it acts like a seat for the old metal to fit into and you won't warp the large panel. The patches warped the panel where it was welded. Then also there isn't an overlap. But I'm sure you know this. Nice video mike

Hey Mike, Once you have glued the bottom section and it's dry, can you use a spot welding machine on it as well. The top section. Could you have glued the top as well. ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.

Hi mate What's ur name i use to buy repair cheap cars that have NO M.O.T i learnt to weld with ark welder on cars it was hard they to hot then I bought mig welder much better car metal so thin there was a lot of say in the 80s that welding on cars was best to weld just spot welding not seam welding jacking points around them was where a lot of rot get in on floors spent hours patching up underneath car floors then I use to plate inside lots of work to make some money but I enjoyed it ur videos very interesting to me Phil in stoke in uk T

I don't think it is strong enough. panel bonding adhesive is super strong but requires to be clamped for 24 hours.
@muzzcovw76745 жыл бұрын
I'm curious what you're using for panel adhesive. That stuff is great I've used it several times. And only thing is the 3 different brands I have used all specifically state they need to be used on bare metal otherwise they will not hold up long term! A body shop guy I've known for years says if it flexes it will rip the primer right off the metal
@Mikefngarage5 жыл бұрын
@@muzzcovw7674 yea for sure I put all mine on bare metal. it will rip the paint right off the panel like you say. and it protects the bare metal from corrosion unlike welding attracts it even with weld through primer IMO. I do the cargo floors lower rocker edges and a few other random places that I can successfully clamp. if iti isnt clamped too it will fail.
@muzzcovw76745 жыл бұрын
Sounds good and thanks for the quick reply! It was hard to tell in the video if it was bare metal or not that's why I was asking. Keep up the good work and great videos!

Hi Mike, which do you prefer for sheetmetal welding? 110 or 220? I see you use a wire feed. How many amp unit? Is you 220 a arc welder?
@Mikefngarage5 жыл бұрын
220 for everything But I havent tried the miller 110 220. they may work better. that cornwell welder I am not so sure about.
@TimsWorkshopTJY5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike, for my first welder will go with the 220 for all around welding in my shop.
@Mikefngarage5 жыл бұрын
@@TimsWorkshopTJY will be a better investment. after using the 110 I definately would go at least dual voltage. For instance my plasma cutter works on 110 and it sucks. on 220 works great.
