In the future when you gel coat use the wax gel coat on your final coat and the gel coat with out wax to build your desired layers you won’t have to do sanding after each coat

Make great that tou are doing this I am in Australia and have a Whaler like yours. You need to use chop strand not just matt glass and way less resin. Use a multi roller to squeeze air out and level you fixed area.

You need to sand off more if the old gelcoat. The primer that you will apply will not stick properly and over time will make the new gelcoat flake off. Trust me !! I’ve been down this road before

hey thanks for the advice I sanded it a lot to where nothing else was coming off even with 60 grit and I don't think the old layer was actually gelcoat would that make a difference do you know? And ill take your word for it I definitely want to do this right so thank you I really appreciate it!

@@oneofakindoutdoors well when u we’re rolling it on I could see the improfections popping through the new gelcoat. I mean it’s a fishing boat 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ and most people do as they please lol. I’ve been fine tuning all the improfections as much as possible so they won’t stick out in the paint …Hope yours turns out good

yea your right you can see a few things but with the 2nd coat I think its turned out pretty good. And yea it being a fishing boat it is going to get beaten up good. Thanks for looking out for me and thank you good luck with your project also!
