Jake Steiner I advocate prevention, at 20/60, but only Jake is effective - in helping people slowly get out of it. He has high scientific praise from me! Only Angie's self measuring her Snellen exceeding 20/40, both eyes open, will be real, scientific confirmation - of her objective success!

I don't know if it is thanks to your husband or if you're just like that, but your scientific approach using measurable data is greatly appreciated. Too much videos saying "good for eysight" without actual proof, data or any way to see that it actually reverse myopia. Great it's working for you and keeps getting better and better.

I found this video a couple days ago by chance, then searched up Jake and have been practicing active focus since without glasses. Your husband's video also inspired me so much as I have almost the same miopia as he did. Also, I bought my first glasses online today, as I saw from another of your videos how easy it was for you to reduce your prescription that way and how inexpensive the glasses were! Can't wait to start the journey. This video educated me to search this method and will have a significant impact in my life! Thank you for sharing your experience!

500 thumbs up. That and your current 20/30 and 20/70 is a success. You will have a lot of "nay sayers", no doubt. But you are on your way. For myself, when at 20/60, i quit the minus, and wore a +1.75 D for all reading. But I was free of the minus. Now it must be your choice - as to what to do next. It will take another 9 months, until you have clear flashes, on your bright Snellen. That is 20/40, with flashes - to 20/20. I am impressed by you!

Great video. I started the Bates Method around 5 years ago and my vision went from -1.75 to -1.25. I would honestly say after a year I stopped doing the exercises as much due to just not having time and then work causing me to be on a pc constantly. So my progress was slow. Since then tho at least my vision has not worsened due to continuing some good habits I learned like distance looking and eye rotations for astigmatism. Now I am starting Jakes’s reducing method and am going to work on getting to 20/20. I only wear glasses when driving and sometimes other places outside of the house and work tho and have been dealing with the blur. I think I am tired of just dealing with what blur I have and Jake says that can actually cause eye stress. This week my snellen chart says my current -1.25 prescription gets me to 20/15, so I will reserve those only if I do night driving and just ordered -1.00 glasses for day. I honestly don’t mind if I take 6 months between reducing again, but I will definitely be working that horizon.

You are stunning in terms of your persistence and good looks - and in your ability to get out of - 3.5 and - 4.5 diopters of myopia ( about 20/300 and 20/400 ). Now at 20/30 and 20/70, you are close to passing the State DMV test, with skill. Success garners success. People belive in you! Keep on going! I pray for your success - as do the people who follow you! No one can tell you what you should do - even now. I only state that at 20/50, I committed myself to long term plus wear ( and no minus ) and kept on doing it till I confirmed 20/25 to 20/15. Even so, I continue to wear the totally safe plus, for all close work.

I have been following Jake Steiner's method for a couple of years now and have been steadily progressing out of my high myopia. Like you, I found Bates first and went nowhere with it. Unlike you, I am not very diplomatic. Bates was ahead of his time in the 19th century but science has advanced our knowledge since then. Published research is not the be-all and end-all but there is a lot of it that support's Jake's method. Furthermore, Bates's idea that axial length changes are caused by the muscles exterior to the eyeball has no evidence supporting it and lots of evidence disconfirming it. You can improve using _some_ of Bates's methods (look at your Snellen) but _not_ for the reasons Bates gives. (And some of Bates's ideas--sun gazing, looking at tiny text very close-up--are bad news.) Once you have a sound understanding of the physiology you can spend your time on only activities that are effective. That said, you shouldn't follow Jake slavishly either. I don't think he would want you to. Do your own research and think critically. Then find something that works for you. But there are a lot of people out there selling snake oil. Jake Steiner (and Todd Becker, as commenter T3 Servo mentioned), on the other hand, are the real deal. If you can find a (non-Batesian) professional to help, that's great. But you don't need one. Nowadays, you can order your own prescriptions from sites like Zenni. I see an optometrist or ophthalmologist annually and they confirm my progress but wave their hands and blather about squinting or tearing when asked for an explanation. I ignore the prescriptions they hand me, but I see them because they can determine if I have other pathologies besides my myopia. Like Angie, I love the feeling I get each time I replace an older pair of lenses with a weaker pair. It is empowering to take charge of my own vision health and realize that I have a better understanding of some aspects of it than the people I pay for their expertise. (Started at -5.0/-6.5 worn during all waking hours. Currently wearing -2.5/-3.75 for distance vision and -1.25/-2.50 for close work.)

Sounds exciting. I've been doing some under-correction myself. Funny but when I read Bates, I remember him encouraging reading in low light, because it would force your eyes to relax to be able to see the book. A couple of times I got my prescription reduced in an eye by my doctor. One was after a lot of undercorrection focusing, and earlier I got a hyperoptic shift after a 36-hour fast. And there was a time when I sensed a general hyperoptic shift when I started drinking a lot of water (C.F. "Your Body's Many Cries for Water").

Had the same problem as you, I follow Todd backers, push printing and it works. my left eye was improving slot and was my dominant eye and right eye was slacking and sort of became a lazy eye without the eye dangling around being lazy, so recently I've started patching my left eye and work the right eye, patience is the key, it's a slow progress but really works, I follow jakes blog but never tried reduced lens method, I had been doing push printing for around 8 months and my left eye improved from 15cm to around arms length , I recently started again but working on my right eye this time, I had stopped mainly because of busy schedule and skipped days. I agree about being patient and reading jakes blog and understand everything before you try, I underestimated the important of changing focal planes when doing upclose work, when push printing I would notice my blur horizon playing up and see a lot of fuzziness and double images whenever I blinked and after reading jakes post, I found out it was ciliary spasm lock up, which I now resolve with taking regular breaks during close up use. I can vouch for Push printing, it definitely works but time is the key, it's a shame many people assume push printing and reduced lens method it's just another one of them "eye exercises" methods that are a lot of crap. I really enjoy reading jakes post and appreciate the biology behind everything and how it's backed up with solid medical evidence, excellent source overall! Anyway sorry for the lengthy post,' wish you good luck on your road to reverse nearsightedness, keep the updates coming!

MotoDav I love this post, thank you for sharing your experiences! it's always encouraging to hear from others who are doing this. And thank you for the reminder...I do need to patch and print push more often. like you, I just get busy with life and forget, LOL!

Angie Hepp hahaha no problem. Yeah it's hard to keep up when your life is busy, but it does becomes a daily habit, I usually do push printing as much as I can throughout the day, whenever I'm using my phone or anything, il always read at the edge of blur. Reversing myopia is a slow and long process but totally worth it, I'm just a normal open minded guy, when I heard of reversing myopia via push printing, I was skeptic at first like most but then I read jakes blog and saw all the biological evidence he had to back up everything and I respected that. That is what separated him from being legit than seeming like another fraud like those mostly on KZbin these days you get so many videos titled "improve eyesight naturally with eye exercise or eye yoga for perfect eyesight" that stuff doesn't work for reversing myopia, never will, however it will maybe reduce eye strain. Anyway I'm just pleased I'm aware of Todd Becker getting stronger website and endmyopia and it's nice to know there's other around like you that do too!

MotoDav, I have looked into Todd backers also. I was wondering if you could tell us exactly what you do for your print pushing exercises? For instance, what does a print pushing session involve for you, and how long per session and how many times per week? Thanks
@TheMrHost
@TheMrHost 7 жыл бұрын
RaquelShields basically, Push printing is taking a piece of text preferably black font on white background and holding this text in front of your eyes to where the text is perfectly clear, then slowly edge the text back until the words are on the border of being sharp and slightly blurry , keeping your eyes wide as you can, you then basically blink with the intention that the blur will disappear until the text actually does clears up to where there's no blur or fuzziness, (active focus) you basically hold this gaze and I what I like to do is slowly move the text back even further and try and hold the gaze without it returning to any blurriness, it takes some time for people to find the active focus but just keep blinking and opening your eyes wide and you should eventually get it. I usually do this whenever I can, I usually spend some time before bed doing it, 30 mins - 1 hour is usually optimal for me, but you don't see results instantly, I noticed results after a few months where the text I was holding I could read clear about 30cm away from my eyes when before it was 15cm, but on endmyopia there's a tool where you can track your progress, i will use that. Here's a good link to www.oocities.org/dolphinhill/theorynotes.html That explains pretty much push printing, also endmyopia blog and Todd Becker site gettingstronger are the best sources.

You really do seem to be making actual progress in improving your eyesight. As a retired optician I wonder if over time you weren't just being over corrected for glasses. I hate to have to admit this but there are some doctors that because they are on salary from an optical store are advised to give at least small increases during an eye exam so the patient will need to buy new glasses every visit? The patient is almost always going to see better with a small increase because the eyes actually enjoy being over corrected. But the result of that is that the patient isn't having their actual myopia increased but rather a false myopia. I have a feeling that when you first started wearing glasses you likely had a prescription of maybe -.50 or -.75 and you only needed them to seethe board at school, but every year there after you probably were given an increase of -.50 in both eyes just enough that you would need new glasses but yet not too strong for your eyes to see just fine. It doesn't take too many of those increases before your at -3.25. I don't mean to be a "nay sayer" but I don't think you will ever have perfect eyesight without glasses. At some point I think you're going to get to what your actual real prescription is and that is what you're going to be wearing for glasses from then on. The way you gone about this is the correct way for anyone wanting to try what you're doing. The fear I have is that most are not going to go about it nice a slowly like you have. For example I just read what "Pokemaniac 2010" commented and it scares me to think that this person is going to go cold turkey. Certainly this is an extremely bad idea if this person drives a car. They are not only risking their own life but many others as well. You on the other hand have been testing your eyes using an actual Snellen eye chart at the proper distance and you're wearing glasses that correct your eyesight to 20/20 and 20/25 which is nearly perfect and well into the safe area for driving. At home your wearing glasses that only correct your eyesight to around 20/50 which isn't good enough for driving but fine for other things. I will be watching with great interest for future updates on your eyesight.
@AngelaHepp
@AngelaHepp 7 жыл бұрын
Jim Boice Which is why I state that I am not advising anyone to do this or telling them how, just sharing my own experience. :) Unfortunately, I've found that most people who comment here are simply lazy. They want me to tell them exactly what to do, and refused to read the extensive information on Jake's blog as well as watch the videos, read books, test their own eyes, etcetera. Everyone wants the easy way out and wants results without effort. I cannot be responsible for those people. Thank you for your intelligent and encouraging comment. I have hope that I will regain 20/20 vision, due to the numerous testimonials that I have already seen. But even if I do not, I will have at least reduced my prescription dramatically, along with my risk of retinal detachment and other issues, and I now live free from the fear that my eyes are progressively worsening year after year, as I was made to think they were before.
@soundmanpt
@soundmanpt 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply. Yes you very clearly did your homework before you tried anything for yourself. And your disclaimer couldn't be more clear. But just as you said people are always going to try and take short cuts and skip way too many steps along the way which could lead to problems for them. There is no doubt that you have done quite a bit of research about vision. You have a clear understanding about prescriptions and how they work for your eyes. Anyone interested in attempting what you have done should also follow all the things that you have done and take note on how long these steps can take along the way. It's not an overnight procedure that has got you to -1.75. Also in order to do this plan on buying a nice Snellen eye chart first thing. Post in a well lighted area where it cane remain for quite a long time and then find an on line retailer that has low cost glasses that doesn't require a doctor's rx. I suggest "zeenioptical.com" as being a great source since they have glasses for as low as $6.95. And just as you have been doing reduce your glasses prescription in small increments. So like you plan on ordering quite few pairs of glasses.as you go along. By the way I wonder how many have gone for an annual eye exam thinking their glasses are just fine but in the end having the doctor say that you need a small increase to "sharpen things up a bit" ? To sharpen things up a bit usually means an increase of -.50 in each eye. And the patient is none the wiser since they can actually see slightly better with those lenses in the refractor. The truth is anyone coming in with 20/20 vision will see better with a -.50 prescription. Eyes enjoy being over corrected. One problem that you might be facing soon is that as you probably know generally speaking your eyesight becomes stable sometime in your early to mid twenties. So it will be interesting to see if what you're doing will even break through that "wall" or if you will hit a stopping point in your progress? So you know I will be following your progress with great interest. and I wish you continued good luck as well.
@soundmanpt
@soundmanpt 7 жыл бұрын
From my first reply to you my main concern was that you were attempting to drive with your eyes being under corrected. But you have clearly been checking your eyesight making sure that your eyesight is 20/20 when driving, actually 20/25 which is still more than exceptable for safe driving. As far as doing any harm or damage to your eyes by wearing reduced lenses isn't in anyway going to do an harm. Glasses are only a tool in which allows someone to see things 20/20. As you know wearing glasses will not restore your actual eyesight back to being perfect again. For millions of people when their eyesight starts to change they simply get glasses and then each year as their eyes continue to change they get a little stronger prescription so they are still able to see 20/20, with glasses. It's easy and simple. Yes of course like you i'm sure they aren't happy seeing their eyesight deteriorate from year to year. You are a very determined young lady and have decided to try and find a way to not only stop your eyesight from steadily getting worse but even reducing your need for glasses. Of course a lot of what you have been doing has been trial and error which is actually very understandable. You have even pointed out that you have bought several pairs of glasses which weren't really what you should have ordered. But the mistakes have been useful in that you then ordered glasses that worked better for what you're doing. You can only succeed by experimenting and testing which you do well. You not only test your eyes but you even keep a chart of your vision improvement. You don't seem to be pushing yourself but instead taking a nice slow approach which has to be easier on your eyes rather than those that would go cold turkey. I highly suggest that if at all possible you return to the optometrists that prescribed you with the -3.25 glasses at some point and have him / her do an eye exam on your eyes. That will provide any nay sayers that you have in fact reduced your need for glasses by quite a good bit. You need and want it to be officially noted by a practicing doctor. Continued good luck in your experiment.
@AngelaHepp

Jim Boice Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! Yes, my plan is to see an optometrist for a full eye exam in December. That will be one year from when I started Jake's method. :)
@soundmanpt
@soundmanpt 7 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea and even better if you have the same optometrists that last refracted you. That is much better proof if the same doctor did both exams and could see the improvement himself. Otherwise they will just think that a mistake was made by the other doctor.

This post is over one year ago. 4/17. This is real, measured refractive state change. This is real scientific proof. OD's will deny this is remotely possible. The fact that Angie went to about 50 cm ( -2 diopter ) is success. When you get better - us a bright Snellen. For me - to get 20/50 to 20/20, means me wearing a preventive plus 2.5 diopter - for all close work. It is an intelligent scientific choice. The plus can only be used, after you confirn 20/50, the way Angie did it.

(Small rant) According to jake's calculator, the OD overprescribed me by a FULL diopter! My actual prescription should be at - 6.25 left, and - 6.75 right. I'm really disappointed because she seemed like a very nice woman, talking about how she'll ensure that she'll ensure that my vision stays "crisp" and "healthy" and that she'll treat me like her own son. BS. Not only that, she tried hiding the fact that I was at risk of retinal detachment, holes, glaucoma etc. she said it was all "absolutely nothing to worry about." I want to see the look on her face when she sees my diopters dropping bit by bit every visit. I won't be improving quick because I am a student, and I won't be getting the new glasses any time soon so yeah, will have to wait. I'm only 17 in case you were wondering. Honestly wearing glasses is one of the main reasons as to why I quit playing some of my favorite sports and activities, all thanks to this multi- billion dollar industry. I even heard a group of surgeons bragging about how the amount of people getting retinal detachment has surged, and how their profits were going up with them. Absolutely sickening. And for the ODs, they'll make money helping us improving our vision (by us buying glasses but for the good reasons) so why don't they?? They can literally profit off of people that are lazy and don't want to improve their vision, and also make money the other way around... this actually kind of makes me want to open up a clinic and actually HELP people out rather than contribute to the deteriorating eyes they've got already

Kevin Gregory-Evans. Absolutely. Everyone should have his own bright Snellen and certify passing the DMV requirement of 20/40 and 20/70 at home. 20/40, both eyes open. Currently at 20/20. A parent - can use this work to help his own child avoid entry into myopia. It is clear that no OD will help you do this. No money in it for them.

I have good eyesight. it was something like -2.75 i cant remember exactly because it was 10 years ago i stopped wearing glasses. To me eyesight quality is like your teeth or skin. Its a reflection of your health and state of mind. There are two routes you can take (these are extreme examples) 1. You hang around bad role models and pick up all their habits, you neglect your mental health, you act inconsiderately and immaturely with situations and dont take any responsibility for your actions, you let yourself get stressed by things that are really avoidable. Diet-wise you eat alot of sugar, you copy all the bad habits your parents have, you have no standards when it comes to what you eat. If someone ate the perfect diet full of vitamins and minerals youd be the last person to try it. 2. You hang around positive role models and pick up all their habits. You are aware of your mental health and always make sure its in a good place otherwise youre out of control and a liability to yourself and others. Your private life and close ones are all in order and at peace. When it comes to food you are so disciplined that you can avoid anything that causes the smallest issue. You can avoid sugary treats and the like because you have massive willpower and can think of the benefits to your health. You also read books on how to optimise your health. I chose number 2 and got to where i am. The other benefits of taking care of your health and diet are good skin/teeth, a positive attitude and confidence. You may know someone in the family who claims to know more than you or that they eat healthily. If that person has dental problems, bone problems, mental breakdowns, bad eyesight etc. they are NOT healthy. They are mistaken or just simply have very low standards.

Yes, any blue-light-emitting device does affect your eyesight over time. I work from home, and my business is almost 100% online, so I have to spend quite a bit of time on electronic devices. However, I never wear my glasses when I'm using my phone, I try to keep my screen at the edge of my "blur horizon," and I take frequent breaks where I look at something in the distance for several seconds. I also juice, avoid sugar and processed foods, and take supplements to protect my vision and support healthy eyesight.

I started Jake’s 7 day program yesterday, and have read everything up to the 2nd day. Which of Jake’s program did you use? Do the reduction focus only on SPH? I have about sph -2.0 and about cyl -3.25 . Are the glasses only with reduced spheres? No cyl? Also, you are able to order “any” prescription you want from zenni? I used them years ago, and they would only fill a prescription given by an optometrist. Different now? Thanks for posting this video. It gives me some hope!

Hello,Angie. I'm from Romania and i found your chanel and since then i'm always "watching" You. I also haven't vaccinated my children( i have 3, my bigger one is a sweet 5 years old girl) and we also trying to have a healthier life. Unfortunately,here in Romania the governement id trying to force parents to vaccinate their children,they are trying right in this time on to make it by law.( i'm not handleing very well the english language,hope you understand). I also had improvement in my vision, gone from: Left -3 and -0,5 astigmatism and Right: -2,25 and -0,5 astigmatism to now: Left -2 and Right -1,75 using endmyopia method as well. I now purchased an order from Zenni Optical ( to Romania!) and i am very nervous because of the bad reviews i've read,that the order is coming very late,that is unnapropriate. Can You share your experience with Zenni? Greetings from Romania, Simona.

You can keep track of your progress in Help4Vision (www.help4vision.com). Just register, login (it's free) and go to "My Vision" and add your prescriptions. It will automatically draw graphic of your progress. You can also keep track of the glasses you have. In that way you do not need to write all this in a excel file which can get lost for example. You are also able to share all that information with other users so they can also keep track of your progress.

I find this journey or yours very interesting. when I was in my early 30's my vision over the years had gotten worse and worse... -525 in one eye -550 in the other...with a stigmatism in one of my eyes. I was frustrated and my vision had changed year after year to the point (was blind as a bat getting out of bed before getting my glasses) I asked my eye dr about corrective surgery and he had written that down, six months later I was contacted to see if i wanted to be a case study for RK's. he was starting them in his office and wanted some case studies. FREE....it was going to be free. I told you it was while back...I am 57 now LOL. anyway I went for it. What a journey it was. Three surgeries in one eye with 12 cuts each time (had it redone and redone because it healed up each time and I lost some of what I gained. Second eye twice I sat in the chair...last surgeries in both eyes I had drops to stop healing so quickly...and had to be very careful ...Anyway...long story short...I ended up pretty good, still needed lenses somewhat...but I asked and said if i did not wear them was that ok and he said yes. Over the years...my eyes got stronger...I passed the driver eye test for no lenses at all and I am 57 and can see fine. Slight stigmatism. But that is ok. Dollar store granny glasses to read at times but not always. I can say NOT wearing glasses after I found out I still needed them to have perfect vision was the best thing I ever did. I think your eyes can get used to glasses and they get weak.

Kaye Husko. Thanks for your report, suffering, and success! Angie - is close to passing DMV, no minus lens. Surgery costs $2,000, with problems. Angie's success, cost her about $100, wirh no risk. I wear a prevention plus lens ( for near only) - and confirm 20/20. Whether Angie, will continue with her work - is up to her. But it costs her nothing, and there is no risk - at all. Just a long term belief in science.

what I don’t get is how over correcting “causes” myopia... I have a very long eye shape due to genetics, both my parents wear glasses and have long eyes and their prescription havent changed much in 20 years but obviously mine has since i was still growing. At my last appointment, the optometrist told me i’d gone down .25 and that further correction wasn’t necessary due to the fact I could still see very well... I’m a -7.00 is each eye for several years now. What I learned in higher education about optics and the eye in general is that due to the shape of my eye, the focal point is not on my retina and i need the correct lense to focus the light rays onto the right spot in my eye. Why should I trust this guy’s “method” more than my own experience and my college degree? of course if you force your eyes to see they will, I can squint all I want and temporarily improve my vision but that puts strain on your eyes as well, just saying.
