I have been using this hybrid set up now, ever since restring Sync came out. I went through an extensive three month play testing campaign, where I tried just about every top rated polyester from the online experts and various highly acclaimed hybrids that they recommended. I ended up finding that this RESTRING hybrid played the best of anything I could find out there in my opinion. I experimented then with tensions with this hybrid starting in the low 30s and working my way up until I found a tension where I didn’t lose feel, and I still had very good comfort from the string combination. With the help of the customer service people at Restring I found the sweet spot for this hybrid to be in the mid to low 40s in terms of tension. At that tension range the string set up seem to check every box. I also did experimentation with tension differentials on the crosses in the mains stringing up my three Babolat Pure Aeros with different string tension differentials to play test those set ups to find the best combination of power spin feel and control. There is actually quite a controversy between pros on whether to stream the cross strings in a hybrid higher or lower or the same as the main strings. I did all three and found that with this particular set up that having the SYNC crosses strung 3-4 lbs HIGHER than the ZERO mains gave me the best playability overall. Currently, I’m streaming this hybrid at 42 in the mains with ZERO and 45 in the crosses with SYNC and it is FANTASTIC!

Restring did a great job with the zero and sync. I hoping that they come out with a string that is not as muted. The restring and sync was not as muted as a full bed of zero itself. Keep up with the videos Kent, nice job

Thank you. I felt the same way. Hoping ReString makes a more crisp string in the near future.

Thx for this video, just considering this hybrid as an option! Challenges with finesse and touch volleys will be a problem for me given my game. Love Lynx tour! Have you combine Lynx tour with hawk touch yet? Great combo

That's a tempting combo. I use this setup since the start of May, still no real sign of wear. The strings move a lot on each other, I can hear the snapping sound on every hit. Yesterday I was able to produce more spin than an actually better player with a Pure Aero and round strings. Thing is though that the strings even move on flat strokes, making them spray a bit. And when trying to mix a bit of spin into an actually flat shot the launch angle seemed a bit unpredictable. You have to be VERY precise on such strokes or get random results. Also, the stiffness only applies to flat shots. With the large amount of string movement, spin feels soft and like a lot of pocketing. And if you dislike a high pitch ping sound you will have to get a dampener.

Hi Kent, thanks for a great review. I have a question. I've got the 2024 Head Speed Pro, which I absolutely love. I've been using a full bed of Head Hawk Power at 48lbs, which has good feel and control with enough power for me. The only drawback is the bed freezes up quite quickly from wear and grooving. So I'm wondering about either a full bed of ReString Sync or a hybrid of Zero & Sync. In a full bed of Sync, I'd probably go for 48lb and in the hybrid 50 mains (zero) & 48 crosses (sync). What are your thoughts on how this might feel compared to a full bed of Hawk Power? I'm an all-court player with plenty of my own power and I like volleying. Thanks

Hi thank you for viewing my channel. As far as restring goes, they are not as crisp and responsive as Head Hawk Power which I feel is quite crisp and lively. The Sync is a bit softer than Zero so if you're going to try Zero in the mains, I suggest dropping the tension a bit. In my opinion, the Zero is more for a baseliner who likes to hit hard and wants something deader to keep their big swings inside the lines. The sync provides a bit more power and comfort and holds tension very well. The Sync is a much closer string to Hawk Power than the zero. I hope this helps.

@@opencourt808 Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I meant to say, I'd like more spin than the Hawk Power gives me. If I go to a zero/sync hybrid, I understand you're saying I'd loose some crispness, but do you think I'd still have a good mid of power, control and spin?

What tension will you recommend in your Speed Pro ? What for Zero , what for Sync and what hybrid ?
@opencourt80817 күн бұрын
Speed Pro has a tighter string pattern so I would recommend 52 for Sync and 50 for Zero, but that depends on your playstyle and what you're looking for from the string. In a hybrid, if you're using the Zero in the mains, string it a bit lower because it's stiffer than the Sync

Bro.. should cross string thicker or thinner than main?

Usually cross string is thinner

24/23kg is too high tension for this string setup. I went for 22/21kg on RF01 PRO (98" - 16x19) and it seems to be perfect choice. Even if still can be felt a bit stiff at the beginning.
