In a pivotal roundtable discussion, join Jim Durbin, the Indeed Whisperer; Chad Sowash from the Chad and Cheese Podcast; Lieven Van Nieuwenhuyze from House of HR; Viktor Nord, founder of Adway; and Sara Dalsfelt, CMO of Adway, as they delve into Indeed's transformation into a full-service recruiting agency. This strategic shift at Indeed is set to redefine recruitment dynamics and could significantly impact your hiring strategies.
Key Discussion Points:
1. The implications of Indeed's move from job board to a full-service agency.
2. How this change will likely triple costs for many companies reliant on Indeed.
3. Strategies for the staffing industry to respond collectively to Indeed’s new model.
4. Exploring viable alternatives to Indeed, focusing on social media platforms as cost-effective channels.
5. The panel also discusses the broader implications of relying on job boards like Indeed and LinkedIn, which are now positioning themselves directly in competition with traditional staffing agencies.
They emphasize the importance of diversifying recruitment strategies to include a mix of traditional methods and innovative solutions like social media and programmatic advertising to reach both active and passive candidates effectively.

My take is the doom and gloom gets clicks, but it won't shift the dial for staffing firms. The firm went nowhere under its previous branding Syft, because this market is not easy to crack at scale. Many staffing companies will only be too happy to give up many of the roles their expertise page suggests they cover. For example a driving recruiter in the UK who was recently told that for a 40-driver contract, the 80 pence margin was too high, per driver was too high. Indeedflex will soak up the bottom-feeder employers that the recruitment industry does not really need or want, along with the candidates who will sell their own grandmother for 1p more an hour. This end of the market requires tons of manpower they have not planned for.

Woah!!! 80 pence???? That's just rude. And yes - fully agree with you regarding the manpower it takes - automation has its place, but it's far from the whole picture. But on your point about happily giving up some roles - according to the investor meeting their first step is temp staffing, but they are also looking to service higher-end roles where they can max up that take rate. I'll link it for you here: investorupdate-fy23.recruit-holdings.com/en/ It's in the video labeled "Monetization"
