Hello Kim, I listened to every word you said. Before I watched your video. I watched other videos of Americans, Sweds, French, and people in UK that have settled in Thailand. I personally love Thailand with all my heart. The only thing I cannot decide my future is. I will be 76 when I go to Koh Samui in July. I am very close to my 2 kids, and I want to be there when they need me. After what my Ex did to me. My daughter has'nt spoken to her Mum for 22 years. I had a house each for my kids and my grandkids, but she wanted half of everything, although she has'nt put a cent into anything I owned. But never mind I am a believer. If I am able to do something for myself. I will do so, only because I have 3 very good friends from the States that have given their knowledge to me. For which I am grateful, and will always be grateful. One is from Arizona. The other is from Koh Samui Lilly, and a very special friend from Hua Hin. Her name too is Kimberley. Nice video Kimberley. Good points on visas, I'm very well-traveled and have visas from i don't off hand know how many counties and Thailand is not easy to keep up with. it is a moving target. I decided to do the LTR visa, valid for 10 years, have to update your information after 5 years and your spouse and 2 dependent children under 20 YO can be on that visa at no extra cost. There are certain requirements to meet but can also get a work permit. Must have health insurance covering $50,000 USD It is 50,000 baht or about $1400 USD for that visa.. Insurance too. Find a good agent as you said! Age and preexisting conditions matter in your eligibility to get insurance or what is covered. You made many good points! keep it up!

Great info thanks. I just did a health check up then two small surgeries at Bumrungrad and it was amazing although yes, tad expensive:) Still I'd say far better than I've seen in Florida! I appreciate all of this info.

Hi Kim, I love to hear what you have to say in Thailand. What makes your channel different to me is you are a happily married couple living in Thailand. My wife and I are interested in initially snow birding and just seeing how we like it and just seeing what develops. Im not running out and telling all my friends we are moving to Thailand and doubt we would stay all year. It has a lot of pros and cons and many trade offs. good advice for newbies Kimberly. Regarding the phone, you mentioned you bought a "thai phone". No need to go to that expense, modern phones work with esim's, and you can have a US esim on your phone plus a thai esim. So basically you have 2 phone numbers on the same phone, and both will work. I use Tello in the USA and my plan costs just $19 a month unlimited, and that allows me free international phone calls if I need to call a US bank for instance. I use DTAC in Thailand (or AIS) for about 1000 baht a month unlimited. I also use WISE for international money transfers, and of course you need to get the 2 factor authentication text which they send to your US phone. I get the text messages on the US number just fine in Thailand, and have face ID setup on all apps as I always forget text passwords.

Great info!!! The dual e sim phones are great... my thai phone is dual sim which I've used traveling purchasing sim cards wherever I travel to. I have still much to learn regarding phones and Sims... but it's starting to "click" and make sense!!!
