Sidious screwed himself by killing the only Sith to control life and death before he learned the secret. It is heartbreaking in the movie when Sidious reveals to Anakin he didn't actually know how to do it, as that was the only reason Anakin fell.

Finally. . . A couple of people who get it. Palpatine overly greedy in killing Plagueis and way way overly confident in Anakin Skywalker. It was a severely unbalanced Anakin who fought an extremely focused Obi-Wan on Mustafar. Credit goes to Yoda when it came to push comes to shove. Yoda wouldn't listen to Obi-Wans protestations. Yoda's magnificent summary: Two Sith there are Two Jedi we are Destroy the Sith we must ! Whilst Yoda technically failed, he saw through the dark side and realised there was still hope. Yoda nurtured hope for two decades whist . . . Sidious made the EXACT same mistakes the Jedi had whilst in power and much worse. Sidious like Sauron in the Origin LOTR Trilogy fell to the stupidity of Folly.

Actually he could if he wasn't so arrogant and defeated Obi Wan on Mustafar and finally reached his full potential as the most powerful force user ever as Anakin had the potential to be more than twice as powerful as Palpatine and Yoda

No, because the Sith way is for the apprentice to eventually become powerful enough to kill their master, then find their own apprentice, then their apprentice kills them, etc. It's not seen as a bad thing by the Sith when the apprentice kills the master. He knew he wouldn't live forever, someone would eventually have to take his place and his throne, or the Sith would fall from the place of power Sidious had achieved.

No, because that's not the way of the Sith. They're more obsessed with power than they are with even staying alive. Sidious wanted the most powerful apprentice possible, regardless of whether he might get overthrown one day, because UNLIMITED POWAH.
