You don't know the power of the dark side. I must obey my master. It might be because he didn't want to lose any power. Dark side craves power, and they are afraid to lose it. He's also not strong enough to take out the emperor. Would the empire turn on Vader if he took out his master? How would he become a ruler?

I didn't think about him not being able to crush Sidious. That can explain why Sidious was grinning when he was destroying the robots.

Anakin knew right from wrong. Not turning himself in after all this time just shows how selfish he was. Do not fall for all the pity party for Anakin. He CHOSE to do evil things and he did them for over 20 years. Being manipulated or not, the final decision was his to do evil!

That is why him being barbequed in Mustafar and later cursed to rote in that suit for the rest of his life makes me happy. It's the will of the force which punished him for doing all those terrible deeds. At the same time, the force kept him alive so that he can bring balance by destroying both the Jedi and Sith.

Thanks to Obi-wan, Darth Vader is now severely incapable of attacking Emperor Sidious. Vader knows that his suit cannot withstand Sidious's force lightning powers so he had no choice but to serve him.

It wasn't just because Sidious was killing his son in Return of the Jedi. There were other reasons for him wanting to kill his master.

In ROTJ, when Vader says to Luke, "you don't know the power of the dark side! I MUST obey my master," it makes me think that Vader is compelled, beyond his own control, to obey Palpatine, like he is under some sort of dark side spell, rather than just simply wanting to follow Palpatine out of convenience becasue it's too hard to make a career change.

Every time I see Anakin and his choices, I start slapping my forehead over what an airhead he is. How is it that the Jedi Order knowingly knighted a childish and immature spoiled brat? Not once did council bother to look into the numerous issues plaguing Anakin. So obvious that failure to act is ridiculous.
