Retro Review: Darius Gaiden - One of the best arcade shooters

I love the game idea of blended ocean theme with the space theme;the ocean is gigantic and mysterious as well as the space,and the musics brings this vibe to. The space ships in fish forms,traveling throught the space is strange and interestin at the same time,and the graphics,the pure of pixel art juice.

One of the games that really got me into the genre, it just bleeds style! A very popular first arcade shmup 1 credit clear as a couple routes are not bad at all with some practice. Most players do use autofire though including the score chasers and official superplays. It makes the game a lot more breezy overall but will raise the rank up to compensate a bit. Great review and good taste as always man. 🤘

Darius Gaiden and G often remind me of Eva with its weirdness compared with other shmups. Same goes for Metal Black which actually started out as the Darius Gaiden prototype.

From watching too many other shmup videos, I believe to have heard that the Darius Cozmic Collections were done by M2, but not by their Shot Triggers team.

I think there's an error around 2:10. Darius 2 was dual monitor, not triple like the first one.

I played D Twin baackk in the day and bought one of the newer games on Steam. I still like the soundtrack for Twin. Twin's last level is hard! The new game wasnt as fun. The upgrade system was weird. This arcade game looks good.
