@floatingdisembodiedhead89753 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if you're already aware but there is a resolution to it. If you are interested in the many Easter eggs off the RDR universe there's a channel called The Stranger I believe that talks about it and other interesting tidbits.

But I recommend watching it happen in real time with John, just in case. It would be more fulfilling that way considering the game's a big movie

@@floatingdisembodiedhead8975 Yes, I'm sure with a game this old, there's an f ton of other streamers that have done playthroughs... but I'm really here for John and I want to see *him* ferret it out. Thank you though. [edit] I'm admittedly fan-girlish sounding but I tend to follow personalities more than games. Much appreciated though.
@floatingdisembodiedhead89753 ай бұрын
@@AngeliqueStPno no, that's okay. I follow personalities too as playing game doesn't interest me as much anymore what being busy and all, at least not like it used to when I was in school. I don't blame you, John is a great let's player. People think it's easy to just play a game and give commentaries but there's something about John on how he gets immersed into the game and gets curious, he explains the story in bits in sizes that he understood it, that's why I love watching him play too. Especially with such a behemoth epic western such as RDR2, it's a treat. I secretly wish he would play RDR1 too after he finished this one but let's not get ahead of ourselves 😂 Yeah I'm interested if John's going to figure it out too, as it's been awhile since I finished this game and some details like who the serial killer was, is kinda foggy to me at the moment. I believe I know the name of the killer, but I think it's more fun to confirm it along with John at a later date.

John, give Pearson ALL the meat in your inventory except Big Game. That’s all you need to fill cores. If you cook it with herbs, like thyme, oregano, and mint, it will give an additional boost to specific cores. When you need to fill a core, just go to your item wheel and find the meat. You can cook extra to carry with you, up to 5 in each variation iirc.

Not through it all yet so apologies if this is a few episodes late (or gets addressed later into the video), but the real power of Dead Eye is that you can mark multiple targets in one slow-motion set, so when you finally hit fire, you can get like four headshots in a row, rather than going into dead eye mode four separate times and just shooting once each. Costs less of the meter too. I never got much farther than this myself but this playthrough's really re-selling me on the game. So glad to see you're enjoying it this much, your enthusiasm is infectious!

When you first start out it's better to go in and out of dead eye for each shot because doing so improves it with use so if you use it for each shot in and out it goes up faster than picking multiple targets. @Mr.Cronin893 ай бұрын
Don't worry too much about losing honor here & there, it's easy to recover/build back again. Doing choirs around camp or saying hello to random people will boost it. If you see random dead bodies like the one on the beach it's always worth looting for rare items or letters. Another tip regarding the cores is to drink coffee or beer from camp those will sufficiently refill your stamina & dead eye cores. Tonics/snake oil ect don't refill the inner cores only the outer part. I'm hoping someone can explain this in a more articulate way than me 😅 Basically, eating/drinking & smoking refill your cores, tonics/chewing tobacco refill the outer "bars" it's so much harder to aim when your dead eye core is in the red.

I'm so glad you discovered "greet, greet, antagonize", it's one of my favorite things to do in the game haha. A tip for your cores: since you already hunt so much, you can cook all your meat at once and store it in your bag. It never spoils, and big game meat especially will greatly refill all your cores. If you find enough of the plants (mint, thyme, oregano), you can season the meat and it'll fortify one of your cores, too (turn it gold). It's also one of the best foods for keeping Arthur's weight up, but it honestly takes a lot of micromanaging if you want him at perfect weight.

Hi John! Loooooong time watcher, part-time commenter, but you're playing my favorite game, and I've been loving your playthrough! Just a quick note, no spoilers: As much as I love this game, UI/UX is not its' strong point. There are many bugs with the UI and strange decisions all around. 1) Some menus don't support 'scrolling' so they appear as though they end when there are tons more options under the fold. You missed this when you first looked at the Trapper's clothing sets, there is actually another set of outfits but the UI makes it appear as though the list ends with the last shown. If you try to scroll it will assume you want to go to the top, so you need to press down on the D pad to properly flip to the next 'page' of outfits (yes, suuuper dumb) 2) You can enhance everything you've been cooking with the herbs you've been picking. When you select 'Plain Big Game' or 'Plain Meat' whatever, you can then scroll side-to-side (there are only tiny little arrows to indicate this) on each particular meat to choose which enhancements you want. Additionally, you asked earlier in the playthrough why you can cook multiple items more than you need to eat; when you cook an item, it won't go bad, and since you can enhance certain foods (like a food with a gold Dead eye enhancement) you want to keep these around for bad situations. That's all, love your playthrough!!

I love the confidence John has while uncertain "I got low honor for doing that!" He says confused, as he's actively comitting several crimes at once. During the train heist, I noticed a lot of black smoke coming from your repeater, keep an eye on the condition of your weapons. Black smoke indicates they are dirty and will become less effective. White smoke indicates your weapons are in pristine condition. Also visit gun smiths to stock up on various ammo types, and keep an eye on ingredients to craft those you cannot buy. Like Split Point, explosive slugs etc. I'd recommend high velocity and express. When possible, use a bolt action or springfield rifle for gunfights, they pack quite a punch. They are long range, so don"t get too close and personal, since their fire rate can prove troublesome. Also, is there a reason you call it + and - cowboy? It's an honor system.. white icons mean positive honor, while red means negative honor. Same for the mounts, you call it + horse, when it's + horse bonding. Also, little tidbits: you can upgrade and customize your weapons at gun smiths. Certain NPC hats Arthur can keep, these will glow when knocked or shot off of heads.You can also purchase clothing and holsters for Arthur at general stores in most towns, and the tailor at Saint Denis, and any available gun smith. Outfits can be saved by pressing R3 and stored on the horse using square, or the equivalent of that keybind for your system. It's funny you also went straight for the lavender branches, since, yes, in RDR1 these could be picked, they had some odd name, blue woolies or blue curlies, some' like that. Collectible herbs are high-lighted when using eagle eye.
