Type 2 diabetes can be reversed naturally, but only if you understand the basics of how type 2 diabetes became an epidemic and what were the causal factors. Dr. Jason Fung explains why the diet is the most important factor in type 2 diabetes and how we can use dietary methods to reverse type 2 diabetes. Check out my blog at / drjasonfung

Dr Jason, hope you read this. A1C is only 27% accurate, fasting glucose is also terribly inaccurate. Patients need Postprandial Insulin assay tests, OGTT + INSULIN..... or at the very least a fasting Insulin test. Please read Dr Kraft's findings from the 80s, he discovered thousands that had normal glucose tolerance yet abnormal insulin response

My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article kzbin.infoUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

Reason why is it works with any diet. It forces the body to go into ketosis which is key. We eat so many times per day we don’t ever allow that. Our livers never get low of sugar either because of that.

@J Rose Fasting, along with a sensible diet and exercise is the key. There's nothing magical about what he's promoting, as he's quick to point out himself. It's the fact that simple biohacks that anyone can do can change the trajectory of your life for the better. If you haven't tried any of his methods, give it a legitimate go for a decent amount of time and see how you look and feel. If you do it right, you'll definitely see a prominent change. I do OMAD along with fasted cardio in the morning and fasted weights in the afternoon. No issues and I'm in the best shape of my life. It's all mental.

When I found out I was T2 diabetic my Dr. put me on metformin. I started losing weight in which I did not need to lose any weight because I was already skinny. So I stopped taking the metformin. My A1C was 15.5 and dropped to 6.2. The doctor said whatever you are doing keep it up. I was diagnosed with neuropathy. Finally, a treatment worked for me. I slept better at night whereas I would only get 2 hours a sleep a day. I could barely walk, sit down, stand in one place and could not drive. The only thing I could do is ly down on the bed. Although, I have a place on my own. I had to move in with my parents. My Mom would cook my meals and bring the meals to me. My Dad would pick up my medicine and he gave me a walker in which that help my balance and strengthen my legs. The pain was so chronic that I was ready to go to my Maker. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.. I am so thankful for my family, friends and loving people that supported me on this journey.

I am also a lean diabetic. The doctor prescribed Metformin but I refuse to take it because I read that it is prescribed for people trying to lose weight. I’m 5’6 and my normal weight is 118 lbs. I have been struggling for years to lower my blood sugar with diet and exercise. I tried intermittent fasting and low carb but had to stop fasting as I was not able to consume enough calories and started losing weight. Low carb is helping but it is extremely difficult to maintain my weight without carbs. And here is the real kicker. One day my blood sugar will be lower, so I repeat the same meals and exercise the next day but my blood sugar tests higher. I get so confused, frustrated and discouraged and there is barely any information on the Internet about lean diabetics.

So I went to the doctor yesterday and we were discussing my weight loss method ( minus 63 lbs since December! 😁) and I was explaining IF and how well it was working for me. I told her I ate OMAD and throw in the occasional 48hr fast just for fun 😂 and I never get hungry. She nodded the whole time. Then she said, "You know, you should take that one meal and spread it out throughout the day. That way, you're still eating the same amount of calories but you won't get so hungry." 😲😲😩😐. Thank you Dr. Fung for all you do. Obviously, we need you!

For me, I found that like Dr Berg used to recommend--> I eat 4 to 5 eggs sunnyside up for breakfast every morning. I cook them sunnyside up with a runny yolk. I cook them in unrefined virgin coconut oil. I add himalayan salt and real grass fed butter. I eat one extra teaspoon of coconut oil. Daily electrolytes are important: Potassium Magnesium malate Himalayan salt And purified water. For lunch I eat 1/2 pound of ground chuck beef. No bread. Sometimes a teaspoon of grass fed butter. Electrolytes and water. Green tea plus cinnamon. Sometimes another egg. I walk or run in place plus pushups and arm movements. Running in place as fast as you can 30 seconds for about 3 to 5 sets maybe twice a day will improve blood flow. Once in a while biohacks: about 10,000 to 15,000 mg of MSM organic sulfur. N acetly cysteine (NAC) Glandular supplements: pancreas, thyroid, thymus, andrenal. R lipoic acid. Glutathione. Astaxanthin. D3. Vitamins B complex, A, liposomal C. Cholostrum. Great for eyes and brain: Taurine. Acetly carnitine. In morning Tyrosine. At night Tryptophan, magnesium threonate, melatonin. CoQ10 ubiquinol. PQQ Maybe one a week a high dosage niacin flush. Occasionally, Serrapeptase plus nattokinase. Various enzymes. Pancreatin. Protease. Catalase. Raw oysters. Zinc. Daily thyroid multi complex mineral supplement- iodine, selenium, zinc, copper, Bs, etc

Doctor Fung is correct. Scott Koenig has been listening to this Doctor for more than five (5) years. My "take-a-ways" from this video and his others include but are not limited to- Type-2 diabetes is nearly 100% reversible; sugar is sweet, potent, and addictive; the human body is not stupid and burns lots of stored body fat and only a tiny proportion of lean muscle during fasting; there is nothing coming in, we better switch over (autophagy); there is no money to be made by drug companies by following intermittent fasting; when we eat too much we feel like s**t; eating several times a day is metabolically disastrous; TV shows like "The Biggest Loser" never have reunion shows because the participants gained all or much of the weight back; periods of starvation increase the human mind's intellectual ability (WW2 POWs learned new, foreign languages), et cetera.

I slowly worked my way to a low carb diet. Started by just cutting sugar - other videos said I would typically lose "a stone" (14 pounds) just doing this. I actually did, almost exactly. I love it when someone explains something in theory, and when put to the test, what they say will happen actually does. (At least for me, I'm sure not everyone's body responds the same way.) Then I cut out starches, then went low carb in general; down to about 40 gms/day (net.) Then I added Time Restricted Eating. Just about EVERY positive prediction made my Dr. Fung and others has come true - my weight down 32 pounds and steady for over a year. hba1c down. Trigs/HDL ratio dropped from over 7 to about 2. Others have predicted my quick demise from doing this, and I'm still here. So to the doubters out there: put it to the test. Don't take it on faith. Don't reject it on faith. Try it out. I watch my three brothers taking pills and injecting insulin and just shake my head. They won't try.

You need insulin to lower the blood glucose (BG). It is better to lower BG by low CARB. Many people believe it is too difficult to give up CARBS. If you chose to take insulin instead of lowering CARBS, you will just gain weight and you will often just need more insulin. Go low CARB and fasting and it is much more effective and easier. You will feel a lot better too.

@@autismdadlouie6872 Well, normally insulin is used for type 1 diabetics and only used in the most severe of type 2 diabetes cases. Sure you could have them eat a extremely low carb diet and that would for sure help. However reality is many severe type 2 diabetics unfortunately are unwilling to do that for a lifetime. Hence the unfortunate and certainly not the optimal way is to overcome the insulin resistance in these people for lack of a better term is brute force.
