Coconut oil (not heated, not for cooking, put a spoonful in your oatmeal), green tea, flaxseed, turmeric with black pepper, garlic, onions, lots of fruit & veges every day, low carbs.(except fruit) No sugar, alcohol , rare bread & pasta. @@trespasser121 When your liver encounters alcohol, ~no~ fats are metabolized and instead are stored in your cells (heart and others) until it has processed the alcohol. This means if you want alcohol, drink it first thing in the morning with your coffee and don't eat any fats until the alcohol is totally out of your system. You can search pubmed to find citations.

I've heard and read that water fasting for 3 to 5 weeks can clear out clogged arteries while also allowing the body to heal more quickly. A study was done on some people who starved to death and their autopsies showed that all of them had perfectly clear arteries. Engaging in a long fast requires knowledge on how to properly break the fast with foods such as orange juice and beef bone broth.

At 63 yr old, 5.7 and losing weight with limiting carbs, my lipid panel is not that bad except my HDL is genetically low so that always has messed up my total ratio. My old doc passed away and my new doc wants to start me on low dose, 5MG of statins. He even said my recent blood work and lipid panel is "interesting". So, the bad cholesterol is not high. Hard to argue with this army trained and ex Captain military doc, he seems just like all the other 95% of the docs that seem to not understand this topic that well at all. I told him that I was limiting carbs and sugar and eating more fish and meat and he said "those crazy diets will kill you" . Well, I've already lost 13 pounds and gonna lose 13 more. kind of makes me crazy that most doctors have been trained all wrong in this area.

Try buying 5 mg Semaglutide take .5 mg once a week until done. See how much weight you will lose. It's expensive but cheaper online. Almost normalized my cholesterol and triglycerides went to normal from high. Lost 45 pounds using 1 mg for 10 weeks. Spent under 200 USD.

@@noone-l2z Thanks for that info but since I posted this comment, I stopped eating/drinking almost all carbs and used targeted food and supplements and my lipid panel is beyond amazing. My tri's went from 198 to 72 and my total cholesterol went from 160 to 93 and and all others are very much more than in range except from familia low side HDL, while it is now in range, it could be up more but hey, it's genetic thing. I did this without the statins that my doc told me take and my younger bro has been taking high does of statins for years and his HDL sits at the same 32. Overall I could not even believe the results but it goes to show how bad carbs can be for the body and how our bodies can many times repair themselves given the right circumstances. BTW, I also totally reversed a 60% blocked carotid artery, I had a very good and detailed scan to prove that and my doc was sort of speechless and he gave the credit to the 5MG statin they he thought I was taking, but I let him have his moment and said nothing. These doctors need to come way up to speed on the right foods to eat and supplements.

Of course, the things mentioned in this video are appropriate and worth your time to pay attention to. And, to reiterate, IT IS MORE NOURISHING to eat foods that are not processed. Well said. HDL/Trig ratio is the best blood test metric. There are no drugs to raise HDL or lower trigs, so most doctors don’t care about this metric. They are primarily trained to apply drugs.

I think it would be good to discuss the different sizes of LDL and how they differ and impact health and plaqueing. From my understanding the size distribution is more helpful in determining if LDL is a problem than just the standard LDL and total cholesterol numbers, with the small dense LDL (caused by oxidizing sugars/glycation) are what tends to settle into the areas damaged by inflammation and that you want to be low. And there’s less of an issue as the LDL particle size increases (intermediate, large). From what I have seen from some cardiologists talking about this, you may show “high” LDL and total cholesterol in the standard test, but show very low levels of the small dense LDL from a more advanced/particle size distribution test, which may indicate there may not really be an issue with LDL. Of course this requires a more thorough investigation and medical help that dives into that level. Also, echoing other comments on statins, the benefits (again based on info/studies presented by cardiologists) is suspect at best, especially given the range of side effects and reported reduction in mortality (its minuscule if at all). These same cardiologists recommend focusing on improving metabolic health and markers to deal with this issue (this is a big deal and includes many of the steps in the video), and some medications may be needed during that process with the idea those may be able to be weaned off over time.

I assume the latter. I think many people would be misled here and just assume real natural butter is also as bad as trans fat oils (even though it contains about 3% naturally occuring trans fats).

@@JayJay-un3rp- I wasn't mislead. At 14 minutes he talks about fats that are processed into artificial fats. Yes he mentions butter also but in the context of processed foods. Palm oil, coconut oil, seed oils and butter are used in hardening processes in cookies, sauces, pastries and snacks. These fats after being processed contains much more transfats than in its natural form. (Remember that even grass fed beef has a natural amount of transfats) Even though transfats are banned the approved content of less than 0.5% adds up quickly consuming many of these products.

Oxidized LDL, pattern B LDL, is the one to watch. On lipid panel, I pay attention only to Trigs/HDL ratio. Try to drive triglycerides down toward 60-ish, HDL up toward 60-ish, goal being a 1-1.5x Trigs/HDL ratio. My ratio used to be 200s trigs/25 HDL, so 8x to 10x range. Been strict low-carb for going on 4 years, now ratio is 60-80 trigs /50 HDL, so sub 1.5x. My advice would be to not eat grains/flours/cereals, no seed oils whatsoever, no added sugars. Low-carb. If you do this your trigs will normally drop like a rock, and fatty liver disease may eventually go away.

Them doctors would be wrong then(unfortunately). All ldl lipids below 70nm in particle size are atherosclerotic. A cac score of zero is actually relatively easy to achieve, until you reach your sixties(provided you don't have any genetic disponitions for developing a atherosclerotic condition faster or diabetes). Having a positive cac score, is actually revealing a late stage progression of atherosclerosis. Meaning, if a long and healthy life is your goal....you should take the preventive steps BEFORE you ever get a positive cac score! 😉

The vitamin is soluble in certain states...some are water soluble and others bind in other solutions... clumping. The suspension is the difference in how those molecules are transport and are absorbed or eliminated. Synthetic molecular make up ie. Sugars can deceive our bodies and turn off and on natural processes. I don't encourage man made sugar substitutes.

Interesting and informative! I have noticed bitter disagreements about statins amongst the medical profession though. With so much money at stake, I tend to go along with those who give advice that doesn’t boost their income potential. What else can I do as a lay person who watches convincing arguments from either side? Follow the money or run the other way!

Cardio exercise and diet are huge factors. One thing most doctors don't know is that the herbs Hawthorne and Cayenne, especially Hawthorne, are excellent for clearing arteries, though they won't help enough if you continue to eat a bad diet- the book "Left for Dead" by Dick Quinn explains further.

Natural animal fats are best, butter, tallow, lard etc. The bad ones are the industrial seed oils. If you google hateful 8 oils there's lots of info on the ones to avoid. Avoid margarine also.

beta HDL only comes in to scoop out the stuff in a foam cell only when the Free T3 levels are correct and your APOA-1 levels are correct and your vitamin D levels are correct. Free T3 starts the reaction with first up-regulating the ABCA-1 and the ABCG-1. these two dudes then up-regulate D. The D then up-regulates the dp-ucMGP on the macrophage aka foam cell surface. beta hdl then shows up with MK7 attached to it which in turn carboxylates the MGP. the carboxylated MGP then allows for the beta hdl to attach itself to the foam cell with the help of CoQ10 also carried on the beta hdl. a fun fact is that the beta hdl is also carrying miRNA to aid in killing the cell. the carboxylated MGP then stimulates the Fetuin-A to come in only in the presence of sufficient Magnesium. now, the above is the readers digestion version of reverse calcium transport. carboxylated MGP also allows for VLDL and LDL to go in and kill the foam cell in the presence of vitamin c.

Two year carnivore, my first cac score test one year ago was 909. My second score test came back at 1043.2 the crazy things is my left main coronary artery went from 273 to 0 this past year all I did was lift for 6 months and eat meat while intermittent fasting no fruits or veg. Yes absolutely you did the top 2 secret that I mentioned specifically in this video. 1) You cut out processed garbage foods that cause inflammation, reduced calories & #2) you lifted weights which as listed as my top 2 things 😁. You are doing amazing things! Do I think the explanation is avoiding fruits? (if that is what is being insuated?) Probably not but certainly I'm open that it is possible(when the 2 things above are proven beyond a doubt to do what you explain already). I bet if someone cut out fruits and veggies, but still ate processed food, didn't lose weight and didn't work out would not get these results.

Doesn't sound like you're taking enough. I didn't see k2 on your list. How much d3 are you taking? Do some research on d3/k2. How much omega 3s are you taking? If I were you I would add an isotonic capable multi and proanthocyanidins and citrus bioflavanoids as it seem you may be targeting immunity. Also add probiotics for a greater measure to enhance immunity.

LDL is not a bad thing , DENSE oxidzed LDL is . I agree with your other analysis . LDL is essentially the boat carrying cholesterol ,HDL and other essential molecules. The boat can become dense from the foods we eat and then will enter the 1 cell thick artery surface . where it then becomes further dense and cause something called a FOAM cell. which then turns to plaque build up. Am I incorrect on my assumption that LDL molecules are not bad molecules? Thanks for the informative view here. Good stuff

Ldl can be numerous , yet contain a low amount of aboB sites on each ldl molecule. So a test for that phenomenon is called an Advanced lipid panel. Whereas it measures size (weight), amount of sd ldl,( usually the oxidized ldl) , amount of apoB sites, and number of VLDL Triglycerides ldl Cholesterol and Hdl's

@@minotaur55 Yes I recently had an (Advanced lipid panel test). As compared to a regular lipid panel, in which only the ratio of lipid levels are measured. That is a normal cholesterol test the doctor may order. The advanced test looks at size, weight, and number of all the lipids particles including the aopB markers in the blood serum.

Great video, but it should clarify more about oils. At one point you claim that you should avoid oils altogether. You have to admit that , that's not very realistic, or rather extremely hard to follow, advice. I get that heat plays a part in the restructuring of oil. Perhaps it would be better to say use oils for seasoning and boil, steam, blanch, braise etc your food . if do you eat out, then do it rarely. That's the way I see it , and I'm no Dr. , but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night ......

Generally good, well-researched content on diet-related concerns. The primary emphasis on diet over surgery is definitely a step forward. However, the recommendation of fish oil for cardiovascular health via omega3 fatty acids is questionable, since continuing research fails to establish definitive benefit for cardiovascular disease. Of course, this disappointment with omega3s runs against at least 20 years of fish oil promotion, not to mention fish tissue consumption.

I've had heart issues since I was 37. Stents, bypass, etc. My HDL have always been stubbornly low. I recently got a normal reading for my HDL level. If you have cardio vascular issues, make sure you monitor your HDL level and get it as high as possible. I attribute my increased level to exercise (both weights and cardio), fish oil supplements and quitting weed. I don't care if he minimized the danger of weed here, I can tell you its real...

Processed meat should be avoided. As for smoking, I still vape on rare occasion but I would advise to cut that out completely if you can...

My husband has a 90 percent blockage in one of the posterior cerebral arteries.doctors has said stenting or surgery is not an option unfortunately and prescribed plavix and coraspin daily.at this point is there any chance to reverse this by medication ,diet,daily walking and reducing stress.we are trying at our best in all these and observing blood pressure and sugar closely.thank you for your care and apreciate your time🙂🙏😏

Great job of explaining the circulatory system. Good mention of reducing seed oils but statins if you haven't familiar?? No thanks and you said butter is a trans fat?? Its natural fat isnt it. Maybe margarine/paint is what you meant HDL increases due to lowering inflammation, work out whats causing the inflammation, environment, diet triggers, bad stress, thats the key. Forget the LDL, that is doing its job, thats dictated by inflammation, ilness, time of month etc. Eat real fats, eat whole food, simple. Your body will dictate the cholesterol levels depending on need

**Important Correction Notes*: -Most sources I see show butter has roughly 0.5g per 14g (tablespoon), and margarine has 2.1g trans fat per 14g per tablespoon. In no way am I saying butter is horrible for you (in fact, I eat it regularly without issues). I link to what these studies are saying. - There are also new studies now debating whether HDL & LDL is good or bad (or is it just inflammation); I definitely agree that no one has all the answers yet and am open to new opinions. -Statins: I personally don't prescribe them as a foot specialist. It appears to be a negative consensus building up against them. Always check with your doctor to see what the proper medications are for you. 😀 - Are fruits healthy? We could debate this forever, but in moderation, I believe these are an amazing source of nutrition and go over the undeniable benefits in my other videos (but in no way does not mean going crazy eating just fruit all day.) -We really appreciate you, and thanks for watching!

LDL is not lousy. Cholesterol is a vital substance made by your body. It does not cause heart disease, it reacts to heart disease. Heart disease is caused by insulin resistance, chronically elevated cortisol, heavy metals, and infections. Cholesterol you eat has no bearing cholesterol in your blood. But, cholesterol in your blood directly impacts having enough hormones, low cholesterol = low hormones.

I have a question, I am a57 yr. old male, and I have suffered with ice cold hands and feet since I was a child. Now I have noticed that especially in the winter my feet are cold, but they are sweating , why are my feet sweating, I have bought all type of socks and wear good boots, not cheaper imported boots, also my body temp is usually lower than 98.6, sometimes 96.7 to anywhere in the 97 degree range, any ideas ? any help or natural non surgical information would be appreciated, Thank You.

Beg to differ a bit here, I think your info is seriously outdated. More fruit is fantastically BAD ADVICE! If you have fruit, it should be berries which are lowest in FRUCTOSE. Fructose is for making us fat for winter, and nature only provides them in late summer or fall I believe for this reason. Eating fruit to lose weight or get healthy is completely misguided advice. It’s SUGAR. Also, “Cholesterol” doesn’t cause problems. Your body can make two lbs of it a day. LDL isn’t “bad” cholesterol, it’s required by your body. LOW levels of LDL is very bad and more highly associated with heart attacks than high LDL. The real problem is small dense particles which you get primarily by eating sugar and crappy carbohydrates like bread, pasta, flour, wheat, all the stuff people are literally addicted to so the food producers put it in all the prepared foods because they sell better as everyone’s bony craves carbohydrate since it leads to weight gain which long ago predicted survival. It no longer does, but mankind has only eaten carbohydrates for a few thousand years. Alcohol is more like carbohydrate, than anything else. I agree, 2-3 drinks per day would be a healthy limit. Finally, best way to lose weight, by far, is a low carbohydrate or keto diet. LDL may go up, but that is not a problem, especially if you are losing weight, which you will, if you stick to eating primarily meat and (low starch, no potatoes) vegetables. Simple.

The weight watchers diet lists fruit as "unlimited" . The diet has been one of the longest surviving, most reliable for weight loss.

@@lorraineriofski7853 The WW diet is based on nonsense, basically calories in vs calories out and the horrifically wrong food pyramid. Limiting calories lowers metabolism until one gives up, which is why the track record for calorie counting is so pathetically low as to be practically unheard of, long term. Oprah herself is a great example of yo-yo dieting.

I was bitten by a brown recluse spider and that poison caused blood clots in that leg, above and below the knee. Have been on a thinner, Abaxipan for a year now but it didn't seem to do much regarding dissolving but there is no more swelling of that leg. I don't smoke or drink, above average health for 67. Last fall I was running up to 10 km/day. My last ultrasound showed complete blockage in peripheral veins. I am on a low carb Keto diet and do extended fasts too. I lift weights every day and bought a leg press machine to stress legs every day too. Alberta doctors say they don't want to do anything. Considered flying to China for an operation there. Can you suggest anything for me?

Just keep your LDL below 60 and you will be fine.

As long as triglycerides are low, both HDL and LDL can be simultaneously high without any worries to have. It can become a problem if HDL is low, and/or if triglycerides are high.

Imo butter is completely fine as long as you don't go crazy. Studies now are more and more favorable towards butter (although some say not to eat it), no perfect answer and studies can disagree, but what they don't disagree on it is that we should cut down sugar & processed food which was more the point here 😁, didn't mean to bash butter specifically

@@DrTomBiernacki had angioplasty last Oct. 4 stents. Everything's still confusing to me on which to follow but I'm sure everyone will agree on cutting down sugar and avoiding processed food.
