Got my ecu back from Ivan and now my exhaust is quieter. I’m not happy about that. I paid good money for a louder exhaust then I paid Ivan to ruin the sound. How does your exhaust sound compare after the tune?
@creed4262 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing the video-it was a wonderful sound . I'm considering getting the same myself and have a couple of questions if you don't mind. 1. Are there any aspects of the bike that you regret? 2. How do you decide what settings to choose on the ECU for better performance? 3. After tuning the ECU, does the bike's warranty remain valid? Thank you again.
@MChappysGarage2 ай бұрын
@@creed426 hey thanks for watching, to your first question no there is absolutely nothing I regret with this bike. It’s an amazing bike, quite comfortable for cruising around town and having some fun. As far as the ecu flash when you send the ecu off to the tuner you tell them which modifications you have in the bike if any and they do most of the adjustments on their end. The Ivan’s tune greatly improves the throttle response on the bike so it’s not as twitchy as the stock tune on the bike along with turning on the radiator fans earlier so the bike doesn’t run as warm and a bunch of other things. And yeah tuning the bike will void the warranty however I wasn’t too worried about that.

Bro, I timed the cold start and I stopped at 3:30. That is very long to warm up a nonexistent cat. My Zed will only return to normal idle with 2 bars on the temp gauge. I have the same setup like yours: Akra headers, stock can. I am not sure I want the Ivan flash after watching you because it still has high idles for very long time to warm up the cat. My GS only takes about 1 minutes to get up to operating temp and it has a huge 1200 cc boxer engine. Can a lower thermostat be used to let the coolant warm up faster?
@MChappysGarage2 ай бұрын
Every bike is a little different, it ramps up to the higher idle to get the motor warmed up before ripping on it. The gs has a completely different motor than this bike

In Oz we have winter and summer fuel. Runs against the grain for me to do a tune without doing any tuning. Just wonder if a PC5 would clean everything up. I have a summer and winter map on my PC3, I added an AFR and TPS gauge and video'd the runs to tune my V twin. I then put it on a dyno and the tuner said it was running a tad lean all the way through. The RSR AFR gauge has two leds that indicate 13.5:1. I tried to get it in the middle, after dyno it is now on the yellow led closer to the rich side. In winter it just runs rich and have given up dragging the laptop out. I will stick a self tune module on my rs with a PC5 as I cant get used to riding a bike without a quick shifter.

I'm not sure I like what it's done to the acceleration response so I've ordered the 7'8ths rubber plugs to start winding back on air in the box. Idk it just seems it's over reving on the power band now , lost a bit of torque maybe or it's the clutch slipping .. maybe

Swapping back to your stock v-stacks will help restore low-mid range power as well. The short stack benefits are mostly seen at 8k+ RPM - you’ll get slightly higher peak numbers with them, but at the expense of a hit to your low and midrange grunt.
