I wish there was an empty version of this palette! It looks very portable and I imagine it would be perfect for non-honey based paints like Daniel Smith, etc. for the traveling artist or an artist with limited desk space. Maybe soon they will have a customizable version.

Maybe so! It's also not incredibly expensive, so one could buy a small palette and remove the paints, to substitute with the ones you'd want in there :)

I still really love the unique design of this palette and am soooooo into it! I really hope they don’t steal your footage and use it to advertise without crediting you. 😭 they did that to Mikki and it was rude. These colors are actually super fun and I love the pastel....ness....of them. I can see this being a set, like my prima paints, that just encourages play because it’s just silly nonsense and not “serious” paint. I always feel more relaxed with that kind of thing.

Thank you so much, Kat! ♥ They stole my previous footage of reviews of the regular palettes like this one, but it's a bit pointless to run after them and try to get credit, or to get them to remove the footage XP I just hope not too many people end up buying from them, they sell these palettes at absurdly inflated prices. I agree with you, these are super relaxing paints. They definitely don't have any "pressure to perform" attached to them, and the light pink color already makes me all relaxed and chill XD

Even tho you can make pastel illustrations with any watercolor palette this set looks very attractive to those who love pastels for the variety of colors that go well as pastels. I would want to try those out sometime in the future and have fun with those pinks that are not common in other small sets

I agree! With any basic set, one can mix an incredible variety of colors, but premixed colors are also really nice. They are convenient and consistent and I enjoy having them on hand to exactly match the image in my mind :)

I've been interested in these for a while, thanks for the review! I have a question though, are they chalky/rub off on your hands if you scrub the dry paint?

I haven't found them chalky at all. I have both sets and the paints are beautiful in my opinion. I was very surprised by how easily they wet and how vibrant the colors are. They also dry quickly so they don't stick together if you just give them a quick minute to dry. Hope this helps. Blessings from North Carolina, Stacy

Kind of opposite of kuretake gansai tambi set I got, as I felt I did not need that many greens 😅 This seems like a fun set, but not the most practical for me (plus water brushes and I do not get along) I do like the concept of the set packaging. Its super cute Its good that it rewets easily, but the paints look kind of chalky when in pans?

That's true, it's very unlike the Gansai set XD They are definitely not chalky-feeling, and they paint and dry super well. They are opaque, but it's the nice kind of opacity (not the chalky, dry, flat kind of opacity).

Probably the same size but definitely has less paint than gansai tambi

I don't have my Kuretake gansai set close by, but I think their pans are a bit larger? I'll try and remember to look it up next time I dig into that storage bin :)

Depends on your usage, but the pans make up for the shallowness by the size of them.
