It looks exactly like my two Neewer intervalometers (one for Canon, one for Sony), and I think it's worth mentioning that although the batteries are required for the intervalometer function, they are not required in cases where you only use the device as a simple cable release.

My a6300 doesn't seem to recognize the device at all. What needs to on on the menu for it to work?

Hey, nice review. The reason I'm loath to get an app installed on the camera is that I prefer having physical control instead of relying on an app while the camera is also having to capture raw files. Call me old fashioned :-P I have the intervalometer for my Canon gear but I'd like to be able to use one for the Sony to make some hyper lapses. Is it possible to use this intervalometer in aperture priority mode so you don't have to set the shutter speed? That seems to be the only limiting factor for me.. I like being able to transition from day to night and you can't really do that if you're having to set a constant shutter. I appreciate your help!

I think it is possible. Now this particular device is not available at the moment, but get a Neewer intervalometer (which looks identical to me). It can certainly do what you ask.

Awesome review Jeff. But I still have one question. If you want to set the exposure way under 1second, how do you do it? Because from what I saw, the minimum seems to be 1sec. Other than that, it seems like an amazing thing to have. Thanks

It would seem that Jeff either doesn't know or doesn't care. I do not know this particular device, but I own a Neewer intervalometer which looks absolutely identical, and unless this one works differently, which would surprise me very much, you can just leave the “long” setting at zero, which allows you to control the exposure on your camera as in normal shooting.

Bulb mode?? Have you done timelapse before?

I think maybe it's simply for the purpose of demonstrating that you can control the shutter speed with the intervalometer, although it seems to have very limited options, only counting whole seconds. Perhaps it would have been relevant to demonstrate that you don't need to do this: Unless I'm mistaken it is also possible to set a normal shutter speed on the camera.

Sorry but: How can you set the camera to 1 second exposure in daylight condition??? Is this intervalometer this bad or can you set the camera shutter speed to 1/250 for example?? THANKS

Does this remote shoot continuously if you press and hold the shutter button?

Vishwa Rajakaruna yes, if the camera is set for continuous shooting. if set for bulb, it will just hold the shutter open.

Ahh yeah I got that but what if I set the camera to 1sec shutter and continues shooting and then lock the shutter button of this remote? Does it do the job for you just like the camera shutter button?

Hussam Haider check to make sure your camera has silent shooting OFF. Bulb won’t work with silent shooting ON

Ntsc/pal is all about video, so it really shouldn't matter.

This works with Silent shutter mode?
@Photonarmy

Yes, I have used this with silent shutter for long timelapse shots to prevent wear and tear on the shutter.

This works only in "bulb" mode? There is no "bulb" function when using silent (electronic) shutter mode in my A6300.
