Great Review! We bought this model from Goldstar Tool in January 2020. Had some problems with the setup. Got zero help from Goldstar Tool. Awful experience. As it turns out the machine was sent with the head (brain, more or less) set up for the wrong machine altogether. Specifically, the thread clamp wasn't even an option; no icon, no nothing. Got it figured out though, wasn't too bad at all. Okay, now that THAT's out of the way, the DDL-9000-FMS is nothing short of amazing. There's a little bit of a learning curve but I think that's just because it's capable of being tailored so much for specific needs and preferences. My wife uses it primarily for piecing and binding quilts. At first, she was a little afraid of the machine. Once she learned her way around though she learned to love it (dialing the max speed back some helped a LOT). Now there's just no going back. It's an absolute beast but it behaves itself like a lamb. It's smooth as silk but if you could fit a couple of bricks under the presser foot, I'll bet it would sew them together. The video mentions the rectangular feed locus for heavier material. My wife used a walking foot on her old machine when binding quilts (the old machine's a Juki TL-98 Q; it's another really nice machine, and yes we still use it occasionally). Now she sets the feed locus to rectangular and that's it. Really cool I could go on about other features, but there's so much, it would take all day. The video does a great job of giving an idea of the machine's versatility. Yeah, good stuff.

Would this machine be able to sew through foam attached to cotton woven - for bag making? Vinyl and leather? Or would a walking foot machine be best? I also sew garments for my kids.

Hi, thanks for the detail explanation, i would like to ask if this machine could set a triple stich which like the home machine, as i know the stich is something like 2 stich forward 1 stich backward ( i might be wrong) , but the stich pattern is more strechable, could this machine or any industrial machine is capable to do it? Thanks for any advice

I have this machine and sew many layers of wool. It’s very thick and heavy. I don’t know how to set it so that it will see thru this seam without breaking the needle. Please help!

Your hook timing should be set first for the correct needle size (maybe a size 18 or 20) Then your feed stroke should be set on B , larger stitch length, lighter foot pressure (just enough to squish the fabric down to stabilize it). If you're using the standard feed dog then I'd invest in a larger one to really grab the fabric. After this your main feed timing should be adjusted by changing the panel to the service mode (push M, then memory switch, then panel settings, panel usage mode, change setting to "0"). On your home screen there is a magnifying glass towards the bottom left, select it then select your feed timing icon and play with that from -10 ~ + 10.

Hi, I have this machine but I don't know how to use it properly because it's not in my language! Do you know if this machine sews elastic fabrics, and can I use the iPhone with the app?

To change language, follow the instructions below: Power on, Push M, Select # 1 (memory settings), Select #1 (Display All), Then look for U406 and change to desired language. This machine can sew elastic fabrics -Less presser foot pressure -Less Tension on top and bobbin case -Feed dog stroke (A or S) -Lower Feed dog if needed The Juki smart solution app is only compatible with android devices with the NFC function. Hope this helps!

I would recommend the Juki version. We've sold both units and Juki has all functions that Brother offers and more. If you were to get the brother then get the S7300A(P) and Juki DDL-9000CFMS. Juki offers more versatility and more easier to troubleshoot.

I'm looking to buy an industrial machine, would this be a good fit for me? Where I work, we sew a lot of wool, and I would like to be able to use my machine for working remote at times. However, what I typically sew for personal use is lighter weight (but nothing like tulle, etc). This seems like a good fit, but do you have any input ABC??

How can I ajust feed on 9000c its runs backwards

The reverse lever is controlled by a sensor that it passes through which determines how much reverse you are using. If the sensor is not aligned or cable not connected/damaged then this may occur. Remove the right Blue cover and it will show you the sensor and reverse lever assembly. Check that first. If this sensor/cable is fine then you need to check the feed dog position. I will make another video showing how to reset/realign the feed dog stroke and height using the test mode in the panel.

Could you respond that what is the difference between DLN 9010A SS and DDL 9000 C. I'm not sure which one to buy? Which is better , DLN 9010 A SS 7 years old or the new DDL 9000. What would I be missing if I buy DDL9000 ? Thank you

What fabrics you mainly sew should be the determining factor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZrLanuXiax_h8U - DDL-9000C (Bottom Feeding) 1. More options in attachments, presser feet, plates, folders, etc. 2. If this is your first machine then I would highly recommend a standard single needle and not a needle feed. 3. If sewing thicker or slippery fabrics then the machine adjustments would need to be fine tuned for best results but this unit allows you to program different set ups based on those different fabrics. The older single needles have to be fine tuned mechanically. - DLN-9010 (Top & Bottom Feeding) 1. Less options in attachments, presser feet, plates, folders, etc. 2. Easier to sew through thicker fabrics since it feeds with the needle as well. (Denim, fleece, light leathers & vinyl, or Slippery Fabrics (Mink Fabrics). 3. Mechanical fine tuning is needed for best results on different fabrics. Hope this information help and call or email us if you'd like a more detailed consultation.

Yes light leathers and vinyl but the right set up will get you the best results. (Teflon plate, Teflon foot, etc) you want to reduce any drag for best results.
