Use a permanent marker and by the fletching, make a mark along the shaft parallel to the blades of the broadhead. This way, you know which way your blades are so when you try to pull it out and need to move it side to side, you don't break the blades off.

Stun darts are for what their name implies. Stunning quarry. Whack a squirrel or bird in the head and they will be knocked out cold or even dead

the black and yellow darts I'm pretty sure aren't stun darts, stun darts have a blunt tip, for shooting at birds, so you don't lose your darts in a tree. Those darts have 6-9 spiral dart wires inside the body and they do stick into just about anything, they are for hunting small game. Thanks for the video, the first time I saw a blowgun, my father made one out of PVC pipe and 8, penny nails with a paper cone as darts, he puffed a dart into the fence we were building and I couldn't believe how far the nail went into the wood, ever since then I have been making my own blowguns and darts, I would put my $2.00 diy blowgun against anything cold steal or any of the other blowgun manufacturers. I am biased though😀

My hunting darts came in without the cone attached, and I cannot seem to attach it myself. The dart is too thin for the opening in the cone. Is this a defect or am I doing it wrong?

I took the darts and cut down the cone to fit in 1/2inch PVC pipe, then put on an adaptor for larger mouth piece plus a small powerful magnet to hold darts in place allowing gun to be shot pointing down at snakes or rats-- owned blow guns since 1967-- love quiet, accuracy and power--

make yourself one, they are addicting-- I like 36 inch size but have up to 6 footers- indoor shooting is quiet and deadly accurate-- magnet allows it to stay loaded all the time-- ready for a shot be it snake or a rat-- good tool to have when fishing--

The resharpened one is not as effective as the broadhead. The broadhead will slice through much more skin and organ tissue.

Nice video. When doing your “range” test you should actually measure it. Or just count your strides to give an estimated range. Lastly I noticed a few parents making comments. You should reiterate that these are not toys, with proper tips (and shot placement) they can be used to take fairly large game. These blowguns are a great tool to teach young kids proper safety techniques but they are definitely not toys and can be dangerous. All in all, a good video.

There are setups for fishing attaching a fishing line to the rear of the dart. The thing is that the dart should have some kind od barb to stay attached to the fish, otherwise it will detach and the fish will swim to its death somewhere else

Hey Pyrotron, GOOD JOB! I am the parent of a kid that watches your videos and I just wanted to tell you that there isn't ANYTHING on tv good for kids to watch SO you are doing a really great thing by making these videos for kids to see how stuff like blowguns work. I still haven't decided if I am going to let him have one cause I'm afraid of what he will do to our cat and birds in our yard but still your videos help him to have dreams in a boring world.

Hey there, thanks so much for the nice comment! If your unsure about letting him get a blow gun I would recommend "The King of Randoms" video on it. (Look up "Homemade blow gun") He creates his own using stuff like PVC pipe. He also makes his own darts. That one is far less dangerous and you can modify it in any way you like. You could make that one with your son if you'd like. ;)

I had the darts with the plastic Broadhead tips. They didn't work very well for Piggins. How to make them deadly. I'd get a cheap disposable shaving razor and take it apart with pliers. Same pliers break off small chunks of the blade. use crazy glue and glue along the edge of the plastic broadhead blades make a sharp edge. Very very deadly on pigeons. you could actually see them bleed out as they flew 10 feet and hit the ground dead. When making them be sure you account for all the parts of the blade and dispose of them carefully. Good video btw.
