Hi Karen, is this original restaurant, because the Kashmir I used to go to in the seventies was on Leeds and Bradford road, whereas this one looks like it’s on the end of a street. I just wondered if they moved to another location in Bradford.
@danielgardecki10468 ай бұрын
@@Tawny6702 It's always been there on Wilton Street since 1950. Just metres away from where PC Sharon Beshenivsky was killed in 2005, outside Universal Express Travel Agents on Morley Street. The backstreet to the left of Universal Express was used for a fight scene in Commando 3 (2019), along with many more Bradford locations. Slightly further up is International, which was visited by Len Goodman and Ainsley Harriott. I'm fairly sure that Gordon Ramsay has been there once too. Near the top of Morley Street is Back Ashgrove West, which is where one of Peter Sutcliffe's victims was killed. At the opposite end of Wilton Street is where Omar Khan's used to be. It featured in the Firewall (Greater Manchester) episode of The Ghost Squad (2005), which was all filmed in Bradford. Three streets up on the other side of Little Horton Lane is The Karachi, which Rick Stein has visited. Around the corner from Morley Street is the bottom of Great Horton Road, where some late-night takeaways are. Dynamo magician filmed part of either Concrete Playground (2006) or Magician Impossible (2011-2014) in either Royals or Omar's, but I'm 99% sure it was Royal's. Some other TV shows have visited Omar's to talk try their massive nan challenge. And The Ghost Squad (2005) filmed in either Royal's or Omar's too. The Alhambra at the bottom of Morley Street has been filmed for various different things. And City Park and City Hall across the road have been used in at least 50 films and TV shows.

Hello, Danny, thank you for reviewing the Kashmir, I started going there in 1973, a keema vindaloo with the side salad and three chapatti's and a jug of water only cost £0.30p in those days, damned good value. Extra chapatti's were free of charge, I asked the waiter why they didn't charge for extra chapatti's and he replied that a pound of chapatti flour cost them £0.10p and you can make a lot of chapattis from a pound of flour. The burger shaped thing that you enjoyed so much is a shami kebab, I buy those myself. Have you tried Omar's, they serve the largest Naan bread in Yorkshire, the Notorious Naan is so large that it takes three waiters to carry one to the diners table. Have a look for KZbin videos of Omar's Notoriuos Naan Challenge.

The way those 4 guys were inching towards the reviewer was very hilarious. I thought one was going to grab a dish and run like mad !! Haha.

The mixed grill looked like yesterday's leftovers re-heated.

@@deadpoolkoa7108 I'd say you've never been to The Kashmir. You can see them prepare and cook everything from the counter where he paid.

I've never seen Asian starters that have been fried in batter before. So, I concur with @telstarfirst comment.

Panic on Danny's face when the water wasn't there. But it did arrive! Love the water and orangina from the Barber's shop over the road!😂

Been going there since the late 1980's. I must have been there well over 50 times in total and I honestly don't think i've ever bothered with a starter or Poppadoms or anything like that. It's not that kind of place. Don't even think i've ever tried their Naan tbh. Its the kind of place you go in, just choose what dish you're gonna have, get some chapatis to eat it with and wash it down with a jug of water. Simple and cheap - absolutely magic!

I've noticed with curry places, the more rough and ready the place looks the better the curry
