My 1992 Crown Victoria LX decided to start doing this recently. Honestly hasn't been a huge bother for me, but now I'm glad it's this simple to fix. I gotta cut the car some slack, it is at 400,000 miles, so it gets a pass when it does small quirks like this lol

Excellent video. My mechanic wanted to replace the motor. When the sliding piece wouldn't go up, I only used wd40 You showed me that it is critical that the part must slide easily. I instead tried to make a spring with a stiff piece of wire to keep that piece up. After over an hour, the wire twisted up like a pretzel but it started working. I'm sure it won't last long but thanks to you, I now know how to properly fix it. I found that removing the 8mm bolt wasn't necessary. I broke one of the tabs when removing. You have to be gentle like you were. Thanks again.

My 99 Grand Marquis with 70000 miles has the wiper arms stopping 4 inches from park stops. Should be closer to 1 inch. Used wd40 but will now try grease. Great video.

I forgot to mention that I took the crown Vic to the Ford dealership because my wiper's worked when ever they felt like it. Lol that being said they said they replaced the linkage that was broken then the wiper's worked fine. Got home and guess what? No wiper action.

1999 Mercury Grand Marquis wipers stuck in rest or park position. They move up then down about one inch. Manually pulling on wipers arms eventually get them going. Debris removed and lubricated mechanism. Now leaving wiper arms upright to see if that helps.

Take the round plastic cover off. Remove the bolt and lubricate all the parts. Repair kit 85-2005 ca Cardone is out there but at widely different prices. I removed the parts from my 1993 spare motor.

Is there any chance you could provide a video on how to remove the windshield wiper arms? I need to remove the plastic piece at the bottom of the windshield, but I can't figure out how to get the wiper arms off. I have a 95 town car, and they have a cover over the nut that holds the wiper arm in place, and I can't get the cover off. The cover is metal. Thanks!

Any grease will attract dirt, there is not a better lubricant that I can think of for this part. But if you find something better please let me know!
