This 20-year-old secret event was completely transformed in a Pokémon remake! Originally given out in 2004, the Aurora Ticket event featuring Deoxys was expanded into an epic story involving Rayquaza's mega form to save Earth from a deadly meteor.

Love the delta episode, if only for the fact that back in 2004-05, back when Emerald was released, there use to be a playground rumor that you could go to space to fight deoxys. It was usually on the moon but this is still one of the coolest accidental playground rumor turned real event.

I think the funniest thing about these two Pokemon is that since Rayquaza eats meteors it could be implied it simply wanted to eat the meteor got attacked by Deoxys now wants revenge for interfering with the munchies

As an extra bonus, when you are about to fight Deoxys, the triangle that appears moves in the same directions it does in the original Birth Island event. By the way, I wish to repeat something said about Zinnia’s battle theme, which is quite the banger: “Professor Layton wants to battle!” (Although the same comment could be made about Oleana’s battle theme.)

You also forgot that gen 6 introduced the Pokemon multiverse into canon and implied that everyone in the gen 1 and 2 Pokemon universe (Game Boy games) and everyone in the gen 3 universe (Game Boy Advance) died because their universe didn't have Mega Evolution, thereby couldn't stop the meteor heading to Earth. Extra ironic considered Game Freak scrapped Mega Evolution after the Let's Go games and it's a dead gimmick.

Nah, from my understanding, the Deoxys on Birth Island is the Deoxys in the meteor. As seen from the same pattern it does before battle. So the meteor in the non mega universe wasn't as much of a threat, or something still handled most of it. Also, dead gimmick? Isn't it coming back in Legends Z-A?

@arashimyboi that was almost immediately retconned in ORAS. Since Hoenn has had Megas for millenia. And Megas are still old, since they have the Tower of Mastery in Kalos. Which has a long history dedicated to Mega Evolution. Sycamore was trying to understand the concept and conditions of Mega Evolutions more than going "look at this brand new discovery"

Too bad ORAS didn’t include the battle frontier. What a terrible decision. That was the biggest post game content ever at the time with such variety in battle styles and themes . So much more fun than the stupid battle maison or other battle tower like content, like the battle subway. So dam boring and grindy.
