What do I need 2 know about the difference between XD3 & XD4 in order to decide between the two?

At this point, the XD-3 has been discontinued for over 5 years, which means it would be pretty unsafe to wear one if you can even find one for sale. The XD-4 improved the face shield closure, venting, internal comfort, and weight. They were mainly small improvements. I do not recommend an XD-3 in late 2018. -DrewZilla

Ik have the X3 , can you buy a bluetooth speaker set to play music into it?

Yes, you can mount most any Bluetooth communicator to the XD-3. If you've even taken the cheek pads out, you'll see that the cheek pads have covers. To mount speakers, you would remove the cheek pad covers, mount the speakers to the cheek pad base in the ear area, then put the cheek pad covers back on.
