Hey! I'm from the St. George area! I just barely took my nonverbal autistic son to pinkbox. We asked him what he wanted and he made beeline for the unicorn doughnuts 😂 (he loves sprinkles) so that's what he got. I was so happy to see him so excited. I'm glad you guys are having fun on your trip here!

My (autistic) son responds to rewards/positive reinforcement better than punishments/negative reinforcement... sometimes it's just a question of trying to keep things positive rather than negative (as an autistic person myself, we understand each other better - but also have a harder time not losing our tempers when frustrated, lol. It's a challenge we work on together - one day at a time!

Hi! I have a Heart Condition, Autism, and SPD. My Special Ed teacher does something similar with me at school when I don't want to do work, etc. She uses this reward/behavior chart and if I get all 5 stars on my sheet I get to watch KZbin or choose a free time option of my choice or a snack I like. It helps me alot. Do you use visual schedules for your kids? Cause my teacher does. It goes like this: Go to class, work first, eat snack, go to speech, and then youtube- or do my work first during class and then I get youtube. She's really understanding and nice.

There are two different autistic care bears that were created by two different artists. One of them is a light blue care bear with different colored puzzle pieces that is shaped like a heart as his tummy symbol, and he has a yellow puzzle symbol around his left eye, and a red puzzle symbol around his right eye. And his left hand and ear are both red, and his right hand and ear are both yellow, and his left foot is yellow, and his right foot is red. The other autistic care bear is a orange care bear named "Unique Bear", and his tummy symbol is the symbol that looks similar to a figure eight that is laid on it's side, and has multiple colors on it.

I have been to pink box. My family went when we were celebrating a special family occasion. We went during spring break when we visited our grandparents in Utah. I was getting a little overwhelmed from how pink it is!

If such excursions are kept special then NT and in particular ND kids will remember such occasions including the reasons they happened. All three boys did great though I think dad was getting a bit overwhelmed by all the pink 😛. I'm around granddads age but still remember special stops when all four of us boys managed to be reasonably behaved, all four plus dad with various forms of dyslexia and me the youngest with late diagnosis of Aspergers, ADHD (2e) and ODD 😱
