It kind of blows my mind that you can make this staff for so little money. And the fact that you can take it apart is ingenious :) I also like the editing of this video. The diagrams really help to understand the process.

+Hermia I'm glad you liked the diagrams; it's a bit of a departure from my usual style so I spent quite a while trying to work out the best way to do it. :) And it's true, the staff was really cheap, especially if you're already making the rest of the cosplay because you have a few of the materials already (leatherette, bandages). I think the spray paint was the only thing that cost more than £3... And yay for craft foam! So cheap and so useful!

I’m dressing as Rey for Halloween this year and while I considered spending money on a costume, I wanted to see if I could make one instead and your tutorials showed me that it’s possible! Thank you so much!

Hey Mouse, Excellent video, I especially liked the staff diagram at the bottom of the screen showing where each part goes while you were making it. I found myself yesterday looking at a lot of Rey costume making videos once I had watched part 2 of yours. Rey seems to be a popular cosplay character and I can see why, she seems like a strong character with a really good look. Now I might be bias, as yours was my first, but I thought your videos and the overall end result was the best I had seen! - (Im not after a favour or anything, honestly! lol) - I see the extra effort that goes into your videos and it makes a lot of difference. Even the music is your own which is really going above and beyond. There was a lot of discussion about whether or not Rey is a Skywalker, I noticed, as one of the girls making her costume referred to her as Rey Skywalker and most of her comments section were people with strong opinions arguing for and against that idea that for some reason, I think you were wise not to mention it! Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for uploading these videos, it was something to look forward to seeing each day. Take care :D

Thank you so much for this comment! I've not edited a video like this before, with so much happening on screen at once, so I'm glad you liked the staff diagram! And that you noticed the staff diagram, lol, I was worried it was a bit small, and it's on an inconvenient part of the screen, but I couldn't really find anywhere else to put it... :) It's true, there are so many great Rey cosplays; it doesn't involve much sewing so it's quite a nice one to make, and also it's a very unusual costume, so it's quite easy to make it look recognisable. :) Enjoy the rest of your week as well, and thanks for watching!

I was trying to get to the pin with the diagram but was unable to find it. Any suggestions? And I like the coupling as it will make it possible to conceal my lightsaber blade when not in use.

Oh no, looks like the pin has been removed, sorry about that! I've just had a look and if you do a Google Image Search for "rey staff diagram" you can find some really good diagrams. I love your lightsaber idea!

I feel you deserve far more views for your videos. I wish I was able to help promote them more, but unfortunately I'm a nobody lol I know you are quiet as mouse, but for once I wish someone with some clout in you tube land would shout about you from the rooftops! :)
