i did this for a guy once, its a nice job as long as youre a good driver and can keep track of what youre picking up and dropping off. its pretty simple even for a stoner.

So, I got into the driver business before and I agree with Jeff. The way I look at it is try something for 3 months to really gauge longevity and only then invest into it. There's cheap tools available to help test and diagnose problems while waiting on tow. A good obd reader would have told me exactly what as wrong with the alternator or wiring. Then I would have tried adjusting them to see if they work, clamps can make having two people not necessary in some situations. Just to get you moving of course, because we all know waiting on tow takes long no matter what time of day or company it is. But investing in tools is really something everyone who drives over 10k miles a year should have, or if most of your driving is at night. What I mean by investing is anything over $500 like financing a car, buying paint protection, other mods, expensive tools or just comfort either for you or what you're transporting. I'm actually surprised medical courier makes that much, when I first seen that job I figured they only paid hourly.

He made pizza delivery sound like drivers are always getting robbed. I have almost 6 years in the pizza industry. Robberies are rare and most drivers will never experience a robbery. UNless you happen to deliver in a really bad area. I understand how that one robbery made him leave the business though. Being held at gun point is traumatic.

When cars were not so dependable and parts were much cheaper many people carried spare parts in the trunk, especially on long trips. Upper and lower radiator hoses and clamps and coolant, various belts and even more. Used to be cheap and easy to get to and replace parts. Cars much more reliable now though

But if the car is decent wouldnt basic maintenance, more frequent tune ups, and tire changes be all thats necessary? Tires are like $90 each for decent ones. An oil change plus lubes and filter change $150. And you wouldnt get oil change but every 5k miles and probably wouldnt need new tires but every 3 months or so.

@@westerngroovetv It all depends on the car. A late model low mileage Toyota would typically have very little maintenance costs. A older Audi, BMW, Mercedes etc could cost a fortune to keep on the road. A older, simple car that is maintained by owner doing most of his own work could also be very low cost.

Good video. Be on the offense of your money too. If you are driving anything but a Toyota Prius, you are losing money. Buy one with adaptive cruise, lane assist and crash avoidance that has about 100k miles. Drive it to 300k miles for minimal depreciation, fuel and maintenance costs. Also consider driving Uber or Lyft during your wait times. You can turn them on and off as needed.

I'm a concrete finisher I make on avg 31 - 35 an hour but the economy tanked , I like your channel like hustle. One thing I could recommend get the best car you can meaning new with warranty . That way your money don't stop and when u have a new car the police usually leave you alone they see you got money and can probably pay for a lawyer . And a used vehicle are good buy usually u have to put money in them and are gunna have things breaking . This way you are good .

You can register your own LLC and secure contracts, but good luck. If you manage to find a place that will work with a completely new driver, without hazmat certifications let me know

But it’s def not a 9-5 where u ppl drive 30-40 min to wrk 8-12 hrs for $15hr.. hmmmm idk 🤷🏽‍♀️ This is your business so you control what you want to make and how you grow vs growing someone else’s business. Especially when you factor in the use of your personal car, maintain it, not to mention the insurance will go up if in an accident(which you are at a greater risk) plus tickets. These jobs should cut the driver in more, hospitals charge an arm and a leg no pun intended.
