The yogs lost me when they pulled in every other creator (Or just "upcoming creator") they could get their hands on. Fell in love with them back in the Minecraft days. And watched every single thing they uploaded. I mean the main channel. I'd watch Duncan/Hannah/Sjin sometimes... Sips religiously. To me, the original crew. They've pulled in some good creators. Hat Films and Angory Tom are great. I know it's very subjective. But you kinda know what (Who) you're getting when you click on their videos. The main yogscast channel is filled with people I don't care about at all. People I find extremely uninteresting and/or have no clue who they are... They just came out of nowhere. They're not The Yogscast to me. It feels like being force fed people I never chose to subscribe to. So yeah... I'm still subbed. But I really only watch Hat Films and Tom once in a while. I'd still watch Sips if he did his old school edited stuff... I'm not into Twitch gaming whatsoever, with them pausing every 2 minute to talk to chat and whatnot.

They fired all their artists and then had to do the Fighting Fantasy stream (the artist one) so they just got Sjin, Tom, and Barry on to draw and it was the worst stream I've ever seen. It's like a fucking apprenticeship scheme there, I don't know half of the people in Yogs anymore, and as soon as you learn who they are, they're gone. The Yogscast died when they went from a group of friends to a company. It really hit me last Jingle Jam, when Simon said someone in Yogs was his friend- I remember thinking "oh yeah, they're employees in a company, there's people there he probably doesn't even know."

i still find the yogscast entertaining. my biggest issue with the yogscast now is, well.. the cast. it's filled with a bunch of creators i had never even heard of. it used to be a very rich community with such vibrant personalities. now i look at the cast and can barely tell the difference between like half of them. there's also the issues with the old cast members having to leave for whatever reason. so nowadays the yogscast to me is like a brand. not a series of producers that i look forward to watching. i still enjoy their podcasts, and simon & lewis is such an iconic pair that it's almost not possible to not be entertained. but in the end. the yogscast is not who they once were. the golden age has passed, but such are the times. as older audience disappears and newer, younger audience arrives. the content must follow

But sarah is genuinely one of the funniest people. Shadow is chill and doesnt make a ton of content but she doesnt ever really detract from anything either. Gee matches simons energy perfectly and anytime they're together is perfect. I lost interest when minecraft stopped. I loved their modpack series and especially israphel. I remember me and my friend would be so hyped when a new episode releases. But after it suddenly ended especially on a cliff hanger kinda started the downfall. But minecraft kept them going. But then it just stopped and just copied other youtubers like Vanossgaming and all that. It's stuff ive seen other people do. It feels like just copying others to stay relevant and it's just not working. I've seen comments when they first stopped wanting more minecraft and then it just seemed that people stopped waiting and hoping and moved on. I know cause I was one of them. I didnt enjoy the garrys mod stuff or other games they did very much. Vanoss already has garrys mod and other games as his specialty and makes them unique and interesting while also not feeling like he just copied others cause it was working. I'm still a fan of Lewis and its interesting to know he is one of the most influential men in Britain that was interesting to learn that. But it's just not the same without Minecraft, israphel or modpacks series. I enjoyed it more. I remember listening to their series while playing minecraft myself. But once minecraft stopped coming it just went downhill. Sad to see to this day they're getting less views. I checked today when I saw this video and saw they were doing even worse than before and I think they lost a million subs? I'm pretty sure they had more than 7 million. Their videos are barely getting views now. Its enough to keep them going but nowhere near as the amount of views they'd get from minecraft related stuff. I still wish they would just go back. It was the death of a golden era when they stopped.

They've had about 7 million subs for around 8 years now. It's fluctuated a bit, but for a while it's just been going down very very slowly. But their average views have gone from about 250k per video to about 150k in a few months. Hannah started to distance herself after she broke up with Lewis. She became quite politically radical and had to leave because she doxxed a child. Kim left KZbin to do Twitch, so I haven't really heard anything of her in years, but she's supposedly still a member. Sjin was fired because he was sexually harassing fans, same with Turps, and a newer guy called Caff. Zoey has just stayed the same and drifted away into obscurity, streaming twice a year or so. Sips streams often, I think, and he's still a member but just does his own stuff really, but he has a podcast with Lewis and PyrionFlax called TriForce. And my favourite, Simon, has gone along a similar path. He had a long hiatus around 2015 due to illness and has been involved less and less ever since. He does his own streams and podcasts now, but they get mediocre views. Sad to say, but the golden age of the Yogscast is long gone.

while the downfall is there, for the protocol, calling the yogscast dead is an insult to them and to everyone of their avid subscribers. eras pass and times change, and so does youtube. with an ever growing and complicating algorithm, the need for new, innovative content is gonna come sooner than later any once in a while. the reason the yogscast isnt at the peak anymore, is that they missed their timing to focus not only on minecraft. if they wouldve played gta and garry's earlier, we wouldve probably seen a slow downfall only on these days, as we see in a large number of other content creators. they just did, and are still doing, what they love. no matter how ludicris their humor is, and no matter how repetitive their videos get, they stick to what they love and do best, and just do it. their era has just....passed away. we can only hope that one day, with the ever growing cast of creators and editors alike, the yogscast will once again find something they can build a revolution upon. thanks for coming to my TED talk XD

All of use that tuned in for old yogs content were likely depressed, lonely and isolated teenagers - early twenties that found comfort in the banter and 'community' of the yogscast. But we've simply grown up, and formed lives of our own. Whether you've realised it on your own, or just starting to see it now, the yogscast are disingenuous. They farm depressed, isolated kids for subs/donations, brand deals and ad revenue. You got bouphe saying how much she 'loves you', how you 'mean so much to her', rating teenagers faces on her stream a while back. You got Boba with an onlyfans account, and some of the other girls. You got spiffing brit saying if you don't buy KZbin premium you're basically 'pirating' his content. It's an elite club, and they used us for years. We were lonely, we found comfort in their content, and they knew that. They banked on it. They kept reinforcing being a 'yog' and how much our support meant to them, but it never stopped them shilling every brand deal they got on us, or hiring their sisters and cousins and mates from school to be content creators, editors and whatever. They never recovered from the Sjin/turps atrocities, and to me that was just the most vile, extreme end of the same spectrum. Sjin wants your nudes, bouphe, boba, Lydia, Simon, lewis want your love and support. It's a spectrum, and I wouldn't be a part of it anymore. Just because we're down and depressed doesn't mean we need these guys. They thrive on it. Our sense of 'belonging' was all for emotional spending: donations, subs and tips. They don't care how they farm viewers, as long as they have enough to meet brand deal criteria. The yogscast are social parasites.

Thing is, alot of their fanbase was based on minecraft, but it seems now they really only do TTT ,Gmod, and GTA videos. Kinda like how vanos'ss channel went on EZ mode because the content is ok but its not bad, but he has enough cult following to keep stable, but its not great content anymore. What makes it great is the people who play in their content (nogla, delirious, terrorizer, panda, etc and make it super funny, thats why people keep watching it. But content wise, its stale, boring and its just kinda bad. I really think they could go back to having sips, simon, lewis, duncan, and a few other minecraft youtubers and do small series like what they use to do back then. I think its time they go back to their roots one more time, if it can work for captainsparklez it can work for them. However I think since roosterteeth is now partnered with them in 2020, they may have a different outlook on stuff. But I for one and getting sick of TTT videos, yes they are funny, but I dont think it should be the main content. I miss TTT being a gag game for the yogscast crew to fight, bicker and have the silly British humor amongst eachother in games and still having other content to watch, now it seems GTA and TTT is the main content on the lewis and simon channel. Their live channel is mostly full of different content now. But im sure other people like me who dont care for live content because some of us cant sit infront of a screen and watch live not being able to pause, nevermind the most times they stream when most of us are working during the day, I never got into live streams, so I guess call me a die hard youtube fan. However the Lewis and Ben save the world channel seems to still show minecraft content as of recent. But in general im starting to see alot of the yogscast crew doing separate projects, or being more of guests in other yogscast members content more then it is a "everyone is in this series together" kind of thing. Like the moonquest or volts series, that dont happen anymore. And sadly it probably wont because everyone now has their own content, which is fair, they all have to make a paycheck. But I really do wish they would change something. Since each individual content creator made their own channels, they all have their respective fanbases. Other then Jingle Jam, that has been amazing and I hope they keep that up, JJ has literally became a masterpiece that Lewis and Simon have come up with. I hope maybe one day we will see a genuine minecraft series again from the yogs guys. But it seems very unlikely.
