Beautiful stuff - so cool to see your saw set up and working. Also, the baby monitor is genius.

It really needs some repair work done to it. The baby monitor was Sara's idea.

Maybe pouring epoxy and let it cure. Then polish the rock encased in the epoxy. Like a slight dome over the rock. Or not it is beautiful on its own.

two questions? 1) have you thought about a lower/less agreseive grit? 2} thought about stablizing the rock first? great video and tips!
@CurrentlyRockhounding3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean a lower less aggressive grit? I have those about stabilizing but I really don't have the setup for it right now.
@yoopermann79423 жыл бұрын
@@CurrentlyRockhounding instead of using the 80 grit plate use a like a 260/220 grit plate? i am just asking as i always seem to have trouble with the softer rocks if ca fail me it will.

I just purchased a few pieces of Rhodonite from a fellow rockhound. It was exciting to see the slabs & cabs. Thanks!

Do you have any plans for them?

Not certain. I would love to cut one, but it wont be till spring now

Interesting I live in Massachusetts and that’s our states Stone and I have yet to find a good piece I found some but it wasn’t good quality. Pretty stuff
@mwilson144 жыл бұрын
I am not proud of that cut. LOL. Awesome to see you feature a video on it. Cabbing this stuff on a flat lap was an incredible feat by the way. I just have to point that out.
@CurrentlyRockhounding4 жыл бұрын
Oh believe me, I have done worse. It was lovely to cab up once I got going with it and now we both have some of it.

@@CurrentlyRockhounding I feel the same way man. It was just especially awesome to share my precious find which was only attributed to luck alone in finding. I was on a pyrite host rock finding binge and the thick dark crusty coating was a perfect visual fit for pyrite bearing material. Once finally breaking it open and seeing that pink, I knew what I had was more special than what I'd hoped for. Sharing it was important to me as is sharing most other things. It has no purpose in being found and be hid from the world. I'll get some wide array of videos covering topics about rhodonite from many angles.

I think you mean Manganese. The black stuff is manganese dioxide. Beautiful stuff!

Lol, I was wondering if you can light it! That makes more sense. I made the same mistake once when describing Montana agates.

Thank you! I think you will be very pleased with what you get from Hi-Tech and thank you, using the link helps a great deal with the costs of producing the videos. Also there will likely be a Black Friday sale.

Great video, awesome as usual. I think I’m gonna try to get my hands on a two wheel machine, you know for cabbing and polishing. They’re supposed to be way cheaper then high tech diamond stuff. What do you think?
@CurrentlyRockhounding4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I'm not sure what two wheel machine you're talking about but you will want a range of different grits to get a polish.
@eitanengel82594 жыл бұрын
@@CurrentlyRockhounding it’s like a cab king but with only two wheels and not from cab king so it can be way cheaper.
