Exposition: Coach trying to enjoy his ribs. Rising action: The introduction of the hunter, who's motives are currently unknown. The hunter is chasing coach, causing us to believe he is the antagonist. Climax: Coach taking a leap of faith off the cliff, and being saved by his amazing ribs. Falling action: Coach, in a last ditch effort at bargaining, gives the ribs to the hunter, resolving the conflict.

Because sincere effort is what made this shitpost into true art, I felt sincere warmth at Coach sharing with Nick at the end. Nick seemed frustrated and angry at his lack of sensory enjoyment (one might say he couldn't even smell his own knees), and Coach readily handed over some delicious food when Nick indicated he was just confused and hungry ("hey, you, what do you see?" read to me like Nick genuinely didn't know why Coach was enjoying the plate of ribs so much). The broomstick in the boat even feels like a red herring for Coach to fight Nick off, but... nope. Sharing food with someone is what resolves the tension. Love it.
@SourGummiWyrm69
@SourGummiWyrm69 Жыл бұрын
It kinda says something about Coach's character that, even after both options were considered (he definitely glanced over at the broomstick as he looked to his ribs,) he still opted for the non-violent of the two. Even if they run out of Chili's Baby Back Ribs on that aimless boat ride, before they run ashore and grab seconds, there won't be bad blood between the two. Just barbecue sauce

I haven't been captivated by an animation to this extent in a long, long time- it's genuinely, utterly beautiful. The sheer expression you were able to put into each expression, the slow build up of the music and tension to the climax, everything. As long as you enjoy it, please continue to do what you do, this kind of art is what makes life worth living

I really adore how well the fundamentals of animation are put into practice in this video it's been years and I keep coming back to it lol From the impressive way you do the facial movements and convey so much character with them to the way it seamlessly switches to more exaggerated and cartoony motions for comedic effect When there's an actor on the screen, they're always doing SOMETHING, not just standing still its so intelligently and thoughtfully done, and I can't think of a more perfect thing to watch at 3 AM while sleep delerious i mean FUCK even when animation IS omitted, it's thoughtful and deliberate and only adds to the effect (in the case of the Hunter popping into view through the darkness) And Source Film Maker is such a specialized medium! I'd really love to see a breakdown of how this was made, I wanna understand it on a more technical level
