I’m 64 now but this song takes me back to the 80’s. I was young, fit and having a great time in the RAF. Met the girl of my life in 86. Married, parents and grandparents. Happy Dayz!!!

Ditto! I was in my 20's and lean but stacked, I had a great career never realizing that one of the field crew would be my soul mate. Now, we are married, parents and grandparents. We had ups & downs, with a lot more ups and much to the chagrin of our son, we still act like honeymooners. We've had a great life with more to come!

Ahh, ha, I knew the man was close to my age. I turned 59 this past June. Not prepared for 60 next year, AT ALL. For some reason, whenever I see Rick, and see him perform one of his great, old, tunes, I think MY YOUTH, as well. I can almost BE, that 18 to 20 odd, year old again, when I listen and look at him. Such a bitter/sweet feeling, I tell you. My Best. Out.

Overall, good vibes all around, very true. Of course the 80s had its problems like every decade, but man we were bombarded with so much great stuff. It never seemed to end. I would say the whole of the 60s to around the end of the 80s was party city that whole time. Fun, fun, fun, everywhere. The music was light - yes there was heavy stuff too - and everyone was continually, in a lighthearted, party, mood. And the thing I remember from both the 70s and 80s actually - I was born in 65 myself - which we see almost, nothing of today; was VARIETY, in ALMOST, EVERYTHING. Culture overall, was SO, DAMN, RICH. I grieve and long for these decades again, because we simply, do NOT, have this today, and not even, close, and drone zombies seem to be trying to kill culture even more, what precious little there is left, as is. Like, how much more can we rip from life anyway, before it becomes not even, worth living, at all?! Seriously! I wish kids today, could understand what I mean, when I try to get this across. Seeing as they were not there to experience it, I guess, they will never understand. These are sad, sad, times to be alive, indeed. My Best. Out.

Marilyn Monroe as a cultural icon has had two big media return runs: in the 80's with 'Goddess' & again for last few years with 'Marilyn Monroe:Case Closed' . 'Instagram makeup' is a modern version of her screen makeup look (the famous 'winged' corners heavy eyeliner with false eyelashes etc ).
