I had the chance to see Rick Roufus one evening in Paris at Bercy. I didn't know him I admit (it was in 1991 and I was 22 years old) but I really liked his opponent of the evening, the famous and legendary Rob Kaman "the viking". And that evening, I hallucinated because "the jet" had been so impressive, I repeat that at the time I didn't know it (sorry). The revenge took place in the same place but in 1994, I was obviously there but 3 years older. The fight didn't reach the end of the 2nd round and I was stunned by Roufus' performance. This guy is the most underestimated in the foot/fist game in the sense that few know him. On the other hand, the legend Kaman and many others became friends with him, real friends and wanted the best proof of the respect that we owe him ✊🏻👊🏻 P.S. sorry for my English, google trad…I’m French 😉😂🤷🏻‍♂️

I can rem watching a fight he had yrs ago and got beat. What stuck out about it was the fact that the Ken Criswell guy wasn't a fighter. I mean they said he was self taught and never fought professionally. I can't rem why the fight happened in the first place. Most fighters won't take challenges like this for many reasons. Contracts, money, or the pro may simply just think the opponent isn't worthy to even have a chance to fight period. So why this guy chose to go ahead and take the challenge I just can't rem. The video is now old. Im sure it's on KZbin somewhere. I've not been able to find it yet but haven't really looked that hard. I'm somebody knows the fight I'm talking about and had the link please share it. I would love to see it again. I just rem the guys name that bear him was called Ken Criswell or Chriswell (sp?). We was just a farmer if im not mistaken. Farmers are pretty damn tough anyways...lol.

So spectacular to watch really the best Nowadays kickboxing looks so damn boring Savate is so much nicer to look at nowadays much more speed and agility By the way Savate is French kickboxing and it was used by the soldiers of Napoleon Bonaparte Actually it used to be a game on ships which moved with the waves of the sea and the idea was to hit your opponent and evade your opponents kicks and punches It kept the men in good condition aswell and it was a lot of fun Then karate took over the kicks from Savate Because karate didnt use kicks at all Well perhaps american kickboxing comes also from savate
