What’s his bjj record and what titles did he win? The same thing with his pro fighting record? You can’t be great at either if you’ve never proven it under the lights. Being great in the gym is much different under the lights with thousands of fans watching you.

Ryan, I just two das ago, tried to get my friend from 10 states away to find a BJJ school and call them and join. He immediately told me about his anxiety level and how afraid he is and he has bad knees and such... I finally convinced him to call the school and he is waiting to hear back from them (he got a message). this video came at the perfect time. Iam going to send this to him. What Master Rickson said about old people, fat people, shy people thinking Jiujitsu is NOT for them...he had the perfect explanation for it... thanks! And Congrats to David!

It's always a happy and sad time for me seeing Rickson because I followed him so closely since 1997 when I really started BJJ. Seeing how much he has aged and how different he is now reminds me that I as well am an old OG and likely am viewed that way. I still feel like a Lion though so that helps. I still enjoy watching old vids of Rickson training with Kama back in the day.

Jiu jitsu takes a lot from from Brazilians, physically. Very few of them are anything but a healthy/strong/fit physique after 45 or after 20 years of BJJ. They either look like bow legged women with saggy skin that used to have muscles. Instead they end up with muscle-less bodies and are early geriatrics. Don’t fall for the Gracie Hype. The clan leads a pseudo religion for those who are weak spiritually and fills the void with Godless values. Heaven is the real prize and it is not earned, it is by grace. Jesus is the way. Not BJJ.

Wanted to talk to you about moving there to train with you. Cant find any veterans to train with where I live so I guess I will just have to move to Jiu Jitsu again. Maybe with Ryab in TX, my home state. Last time I saw you was about the time Rockson passed away in Pacific Palisades. What a loss. I remember the Pico days were the best brother. We were all in our prime then huh. Today too many Gracie Bajas who focus too much on Tournament techniques for my preference. Was sooo glad to see Rickson lay out this new agenda with the federation. Will see you soon. Ryan, I hope to meet up with you soon.

Dave had no idea what was happening and chose to wear his fave KJJ bamboo gi. Rickson on the other hand, is old school and prefers white gis. So we wear white to honor him. Thankfully, I had packed Dave’s white gi in the car when we left his house that morning, since I knew exactly what was happening. So when GM Rickson arrived, Dave changed to his white gi.

The Gracies are great story tellers. Where are they now? Answer hiding under a rock! You don't need to waste 8 years of your life learning Jiu-Jitsu but a a few moths neutralizing it. :)) The story that Jiu-Jitsu would work for the skinny guy was a nice story. All the Gracies are not competing in the UFC, why because they've lost many times. They were humiliated by Sakuraba in Japan too. They always look for an excuse. And my friends they Gracies surrendered to Sakuraba, they threw the towel. By the way, the first UFC followed special rules imposed by Rorion that favor Royce. Royce used illegal drugs and he was defefead many times. The myth was over. Jiu-Jitsu can NOT win in the UFC, look at the statistics. The Gracies do NOT compete in Vale Tudo nor in the UFC because Jiu-Jitsu alone is not enough. They got their ass kicked.
