Love to hear George Weingeroff's name thrown out there. Almost no one knows who he is, unless they saw the Poffo ICW, where he worked more in the uppercard, in a tag team with Leaping Lanny Poffo. Everywhere else he mostly worked undercard. He was a second generation (his father was "Gentleman" Saul Weingeroff) and was a collegiate standout at the Univ of Tennessee-Chattanooga, where one of his teammates was Pistol Pez Whatley. He was legally blind, not completely blind. He could see with heavy glasses, but his vision correction was such that he was considered "legally" blind. He has since had surgery that has improved it, so I have heard. He was a hell of a mat wrestler and could do some spectacular stuff; but, he had to work with feel and shadows, because he worked without his glasses. So, he kept to the mat. His timing was impeccable and he was smooth as silk. He was a shooter and if you wanted to challenge him, he was going to stretch you. He also worked in Japan, for Baba and for UWFI, doing shoot wrestling. Pez also did a little with UWFI. George and Lanny were a hell of a team, between George's mat work and Lanny's right punch and high spots. They had great feuds with the Devil's Duo (Jeff Sword & Doug Vines) and The Convertible Blonds (Gorgeous Gary Royal, Hustler Rip Rogers and Ricky Starr), over the US Tag Team titles (which had the crappiest belts you ever saw; looked like license plates riveted to a weightlifting belt).

I played that game Total Extreme Wrestling and used a mod that started in 1970, I simmed to 1980 and low and behold, George Weingeroff was WWWF champion from 1975 to 1979, never knew who he was but yes, he had some talent and like you said, he went all over

Several people have told stories about Hacksaw being a tough guy. Apparently Hacksaw just didn't care about much. My favorite Hacksaw story is the time he got arrested with The Iron Sheik. They got arrested for drugs, but it ended up becoming a scandal, and not because of the drugs, but because he was traveling with a heel. Back then Vince did not allow them to travel with heels, and he got suspended for traveling with a heel.
