Looking for the same thing in 2024, just want to do quick videos but my android phone camera does not record line level. Unfortunately this adapter is not available anymore at least can't find it on Amazon in Europe. (the link leads to a version that is not for line level but for a microphone)

I've never thought about such a setup:) what I'm doing is I shoot a video where I play on MPC and record audio separately in Ableton and then make edits and finish the final video with recorded audio in Davinci resolve but I spend so much time on doing this....Well, what can I say...simplicity is a key:) I need to try this cable.

​@@jleape1989 Needs to be stereo, so won't work. I bought a Behringer UCA202 audio interface, and that does the job perfectly. You'll just need whatever adapter it takes to plug a USB device into your phone.

First of all. Love the channel and the vids, keep them coming😊 I purchased this headset buddy and hooked it up to my po 33 and record on my phone. With just the headset buddy and the lightning cable I get great sound quality in my video, but when I add a splitter to hear through headphones even with the po 33 maxed I noticed that my volume goes down pretty low in the video on my phone. I am not sure it’s my splitter or maybe I need to try a cheap splitter. Let me know your thoughts, thanks 😊

I used to use a similar cable and it worked fine but it was mono. I think every device uses a mono mic input. In order to go stereo I had to buy a Roland Go mixer so that it uses the lightning port to pass stereo signals. There is another device for stereo but they need power and your lightning port or compatible Android input.

Max Martinez you’re right Max! This is a mono input. I guess I never really noticed since my Instagram feed is in mono. I know it’s different for android though

does android use a stereo mic ? I didn't know if they did. This is definitely the least expensive solution though. The one I had was $10 but it didn't have a buffer so the signal from my mixer was clipping until you turn it down. At least the Go mixer has a clipping indicator which helps. Great video though I was looking for this type of thong a few months ago. It definitely improves the audio even if it's mono.

Maybe you've got a grounding problem in your setup. power that is not going trough ground but instead trough the cable. Could even be as simple as trying a diferent outlet

If you haven't figured out a solution yet, you could get a TRRS splitter cable and use that if your Android device has a headphone jack.

I got the headset buddy adapter although when I connect it to my iPhone lightning dongle it turns the volume all the way down and doesn't record any mic audio. Any ideas on what's going on? It seems like the plug is trying to control the phone I continue to feel a little vibrate because it keeps lowering volume even though its all the way down.

I ordered one of these from headset buddy...I can't wait for that damn thing to come in the mail so I paid extra for shipping. Been doing livestream dj sets from my apartment and right now I use a tripod with a boom mic that connects to my phone. Only problem is it picks up the high pitch noise coming from my rekordbox unit, so this is gonna change the game for me.

Hi Ricky, recording directly from any PO to my iPhone11 works perfectly. It doesn’t matter what volume setting you use, but as soon as i connect in to my mixer (headphone output) i get all kinds of clicks. It sounds like its clipping. If i lower the volume way down it gets better but then you end up with a video with very soft audio. Would be great if i could record the mix in stead of just one machine. Do you have any suggestions what i can try to fix this? Thanx!

This is probably way too late, but it think the POs just transmit mono audio and the clock track from the same jack. So that clicking is probably the clock.

Its mono because its just a TRRS connector. For stereo you will need a TRRRS connector. As i know, Sony Xperia z2 and up are useing such a connector. Sony got this environmental noise canceling where an extra microphone build into the headphones catch up the noise around you, phaseshift it 180° and give it back out to your headphones where it will cancel its self out - because of the phaseshift. Long Story short: XperiaPhones got 2 microphoneinputs. Im on it to try a selfbuild cable with a small circuit (line2mic-level) as soon as the TRRRS connector will arrive from aliexpress... my experience is that such cables are dangerous (also headphone/mic splitter cable). The line signal going in is stereo and the mic input is mono, so the stereo line level just sums to mono. Best you can do is take a stereo line cable, cut and solder it so it's mono.
