In this video, we explore the newest offering from Triumph, with a review of the 2024 Daytona 660. Go on a ride with me as I discuss the specs of the motorcycle, as well as first impressions of the riding position, comfortability, and performance of the updated inline triple. It's also easy to make some comparisons to the other bikes in Triumph's 660 range, like the Trident. Are you interested in learning more about this motorcycle? This video is for you. Don't forget to leave a comment if you have any questions about this ride.
See you on the road! 🏍️🤘

I own the 660 trident and find that bike to be very enjoyable! I used to only ride sport bikes, but now i love the more laid back seating !

I’ve owned a few bikes and I agree; it’s very enjoyable. I have 3 bikes in my garage right now and I ride the Trident 90% of the time. Love it!

Haha, he’s a newer rider but doing a great job so far. I was joking with him later on how he kept “rev-blocking” me. I really like the bike, too. I would not be surprised if there’s one in my garage at some point down the road. Thanks for watching!

Appreciate your comments on clutch lever feel... Did not like the feeling on my Honda CB650R, too light. Love the feel of the and clutch pull of my Suzuki GSX-S1000

Never been on a S1000, but I imagine the Suzuki’s all have a similar feel; just got off a new 8R. Add an adjustable clutch lever, and I’m sure it would be golden.

Enjoyed the review - I was really looking at the Trident and caught the curiosity for the Daytona. You have now made that curiosity much worse. Thanks. Plan to watch your video on the 2023 Trident and will see where life takes me. Cheers and sub'd.

I have a 2008 Tiger 1050, brilliant bike but getting a bit old - its used as a daily and for touring and I have a R7 for a bit of fun - more for full leather suit mountain carving and intermediate level track use. I am considering replacing the Tiger 1050 with the much lighter Tiger 660... But this Daytona could be consideration as well if I can get some decent side bags on it (I am used to sport bike ergos). I wonder if the power tweeks on this Daytona will trickle down to the Tiger and Trident. Thanks for sharing this, enjoyed it.

Thanks for watching; I also have a 2015 Tiger 800 XRx that I have done some longer rides on. I haven’t compared it to the new 660, but I imagine the heavier “adventure” setup, especially when you add panniers/bags, would be noticeable on the smaller motor. I just had a tail bag on my Trident for this trip to Austin but I still had a blast, though. I would like to see the power changes trickle down, but I don’t see them doing that; they are definitely trying to hit a price point with the 660 lineup.

@@motomaverickusa Considering that I did a 2000 mile tour of Scotland on a 2018 Ninja 400, staying at B&B's (so not full camping gear thankfully because early spring storms were the real deal)... So I believe for me power should be more than fine carrying gear/luggage on the 660. I am an pretty average 5ft 9inch height and broad shoulder/stocky/Barrel chested 185 lbs.

Nice vid & review. It's definitely an exciting bike for a good price. Although, I think I'd be looking in to upgrading the suspension to add some adjustability & firm it up a bit if I was getting one.
@motomaverickusa
@motomaverickusa 5 ай бұрын
I believe the rear mono shock is pre-load only, but I’ve heard even getting that adjusted to your weight can really help out the feel of the bike. If I were going to get one of these to track, I’d definitely hit up the suspension guy at the track day to help me tune what’s there or suggest something to fit me specifically. Anytime people start talking about tracking something, there’s always the “you have to go see the suspension guy that’s there; he’s amazing” or something like that. 😂
@ragerider6283
@ragerider6283 5 ай бұрын
@@motomaverickusa Yep, there is always a "life changing" suspension guru hidden away somewhere at any given track lol. I think with the 660, even for road riding, I'd look at a new rear shock & a cartridge kit for the forks too as it has so much unrealised potential imo. It also needs some nice resets but that's all getting pretty expensive.
@motomaverickusa

@@ragerider6283 Exactly; and for someone like me has only so far aspired to go to a track day, that’s a lot to commit to. I feel confident that my Trident will be fine for awhile before I feel like I need something more track-focused.

@@motomaverickusa Yes for sure. I hope they put the new Daytona 660 engine in the next updated versions of the Trident & Tiger as they would be class leaders imo as they're already very good.

@@ragerider6283100%. I am planning on an exhaust and a tune for my Trident; my hope is it gets it at least close to the Daytona, but I know that will be tricky because of the internal changes they made. People I have talked to about tuning the Trident is that it completely wakes up the motor. Fingers crossed…

Thanks for the video, it's really useful! I am going to buy my first bike very soon and I'm torn between Trident and this one. I am going to use it primarily in the city with weekly trips for 40-100 km on highways. What would you pick under these conditions? Will I be able to have a passenger for these trips? I'm 5'10 and 190 lbs
@motomaverickusa
@motomaverickusa 5 ай бұрын
Both bikes will be very fun around town and can do highways well; I’ve enjoyed my Trident for that very purpose. As for carrying a passenger, I can’t speak to that for either motorcycle. My wife has ridden my Tiger 800 with me, though, we were both comfortable and the bike did great. The 660 motors have a little less power, but are also much lighter. I would assume the bike could handle it, as long as your passenger is comfortable on the pillion; there’s not much seat there. I would definitely suggest getting the both of you to sit on it and see how it feels.

@@motomaverickusa thank you very much for the response! The one more thing I'd love to get to know - have you used any windshield on your Trident? I also heard that some people complained about heat waves coming from the motor while riding Trident making it much less comfortable - have you ever experienced that?
@motomaverickusa
@motomaverickusa 5 ай бұрын
I have not noticed much with the heat coming off of it, at least not more than any other bike I’ve ridden. As for the windshield, I bought Trident specifically because it doesn’t have a windshield; I wanted a true naked bike. I still have my Tiger 800, which does have a big windshield on it, and I use that bike for any longer distance trips I’ll be riding. The windshield does make a difference in the comfortability of the ride, especially when the wind and other atmospheric conditions can impact the rider.

@@motomaverickusa No man, LOL. I just think for the most part you won't be using the clutch all that much on this bike because of the QS system. If you maintain the cable lubing it a few times a year I bet it will be just fine. They have to make the bike meet the price point and from a weight and cost standpoint a clutch cable makes sense. About to pull the trigger on a Trident just as soon as the '25s drop in a week or two. My dealer has three '24s left and the salesman hinted I might be able to get a better deal once the new year models arrive.
