I recently just passed my MSF course with Harley (Palm Bay) in FL. After passing my test, watching this video has given me way more understanding as to everything that goes into riding and more. In the city riding portion, I noticed your hand never grabbed the front back, aside from the fast stop example. Are you primarily stopping with the rear brake all the time? I'm a beginner rider who will be purchasing his first sport bike. I had to learn on a Harley short boy, as the call it, so I know how it's going to feel going from a a Harley to a sport bike. Thank you in advance.

This made me seriously consider getting this bike. I've done a couple of test rides and might actually get it next year. Guys, the engine is a gem. Docile around the lower RPM's, perfect for around town. No jerky movements when going on-off throttle but boy does it wake up in the midrange and asks for you to rev it.

I’ve had my Daytona 660 for 2 weeks now and it’s so much fun to ride I’ve already done 2000 kilometres on it. I might be addicted to it and need therapy. I live in Sydney Australia and we have a great variety of freeways and twisty roads on the southern coast and hills. This bike handles all of it with its sure footed upside down forks, grippy Michelin power 6 tyres and excellent brakes. The power plant is awesome and an absolute torque hound. It gives instant power anywhere in the rev range and the acceleration is stronger than the Honda CB1300 I used to have. I’m going to ride it from Sydney to my home town Adelaide in South Australia across the Hay plains for the Christmas holidays and come back via the Great Ocean road in Victoria. I already have confidence in this bike’s ability to handle the 1400 kilometres there and 1700 kilometres back.

Nice vid. It's a good bike, looks pretty nice & has a decent engine for the class. However, I don't like the cockpit (not a deal breaker though) & the suspension & handling are a bit disappointing. I looked in to this & the GSX8R & bought the 8R in the end. The 660 looks better overall, including the bars, but they are less comfortable. I also think the Triumph has a better / more exciting engine, but the 8R's engine is still very good & the low down & midrange torque makes it more useable at legal speeds. It also has a QS as standard. Whereas the best part of the Triumph's engine is when you rev it out & then you're looking at jail time. Also while they aren't bad on the Daytona, the build quality, comfort, suspension & handling are all better on the 8R. Brakes are very good on both bikes. If Triumph upgraded the suspension & dash it would easily be the class leader imo.

@user-vf7gp1hr9cАй бұрын
If it won't flick, I doubt it's the bike's fault. Probably need to check your rear pre-load to raise the rear end (which you probably didn't adjust) so it will flick left to right. Had same problem on my 765 which everyone says is the most agile. Once I did that, it was amazing.

I was super hyped up about this bike, but the more I think about it the more it feels budget to me. Sure it's premium made and feeling, but no quickshifter as standard? For the price I kinda would like one. Better dash? Same story, it's not bad, but for the price... It's this lack of things that really detracts from this bike for me, it feels like it was made from parts laying around - all the budget probably went for the engine. Will still give it a ride, but for this price, I am probably not gonna get it and go with something else. Hell, the street tripple R, which is a MUCH better bike, is just a couple hundred more. Edit: and yes, white is the best color!

The power plant is changed from the other 660s, more RPM and power, triple throttle bodies etc. Finally, don't agree with you on the dash. It is a pile of rubbish, even the tame Ninja has a better dash, the R7 is fine for an LCD and the GSX is the best in class. Triumph needs to up its act. And a free quick shifter too! @Frank_Torre7 ай бұрын
OC: Triumph really knows how to give us a great triple. That linear power band is my favourite kinda power delivery. You get the punch of a parallel twin with the high rev range of a in-line 4. Giving you smooth power delivery thru the revs. I just wish they brought back the 675R triple instead of using the Trident 660 triple. Honestly though the head unit is a lil dated, like you can see they made lil effort to change the front of the bike compared to the 675R and naturally they gave it a budget feeling dash to get it under 10k. I'd say pass because I owned a Daytona 675R and no matter what Triumph do with this new Daytona aside from putting the 675R triple in it and calling it the R spec Daytona I'll always choose the more aggressive riding position of the 675R and more sporty nature. But given the choice between the Daytona 660 and say a Aprilia RS660, I think I'd go RS660 even if it's msrp is higher. The RS660 is a better bike and Aprilia tend to sell below the msrp from what I've experienced.
