That Washburn is perfect for me since my fat sloppy fingers keep giving me unwanted string noise. Now I can just turn the output down for the strings I’m not playing on!
@chriswareham5 ай бұрын
I used to have a bass guitar that in addition to the conventional output also had separate outputs - one for the E and A strings, another for the D and G strings. The bass was made by Shergold, who had a habit of including some unusual electronics in their instruments. Never had the two amp output necessary to use the separate outs, but it would have been interesting to put chorus on the D and G string output while keeping the signal from the lower strings clean.

That 80's San Dimas would have sold instantly if it didn't have an 80's flat booty graphic. Hembry was kinda sweet for if you want to play classical guitar but need to look metal AF 🤘
@M3dicinePYT5 ай бұрын
I've actually thought about what could be done w/ separate outputs for each string... I'm not saying it'd be great in all situations; but if it was functional, you could probably get sounds (assuming proper string pickup separation) that you couldn't get otherwise.

A comment in favor of the 8:14 crazy Pedalboard, all of those pedals brand new would cost way more than 800 bucks, for example a brand new ottobit costs 300, and if you wanted to separate them out blank pedal enclosures are super cheap, so if you’re willing to do a bit of work to remove them from this enclosure and rehouse them you could actually end up saving a bit of money on a lot of neat circuits. Plus, I think you could get some really fun sounds out of it, and it might work alright for people. Still a crazy listing, but that price ain’t half bad in my opinion.

Honestly that first guitar is pretty awesome. Steve Morse had a guitar with something similar a long time ago. You could theoretically send different strings to left and right outputs and with the tone knobs you could really get some interesting things going musically using panning and tone. Ugly guitar and the price is too high, but I could easily see this used to create something really unique musically.

That washburn is 100% a diy take on the old ripley stereo guitars. They were meant to be used with multiple amps for recording. EVH played one in a couple of songs and iirc even had some input on the development of them (don't quote me on that). But that could be why that washburn was used, because it vaguely resembles a wolfgang. Now what I don't know is how they got it to work with those pickups. The ripley had a bartolini pickup and a bunch of fancy circuitry that could isolate and pan each string

Washburn - Instead of using a Splitter box they modified the guitar at the source to be the splitter..........This is ridiculous and serves no application unless they did this to play around as a concept for surround sound. Pedal Console - I mean I would do this, I seriously think some company should make "starter boards" that use mini pedals to have genre types, like a Metal Board that covers the basics of what you need for a reasonable price.
@mikeybeazley34 ай бұрын
The company that makes the submarine pickup has made a new pickup with outputs for each string, and fits on any guitar without modifications. It actually sounds cool, you can apply different effects to each string or stereo pan them… the intent of the design appears to be more of a studio tool. That Washburn is ridiculous though 😂
