No disrespect to the bedroom players out there…but once you begin recording, multitracking, playing live with OTHER guitar players…your perfect bedroom tone tends to go right out the window…Mike is right. I don’t love EMG’s for everything but for ATR, can’t go wrong.

Only people who have never played with a live drummer in the same room, believe that the bedroom tone they have would be the same in a live band setting

Man, I’m with you, I tried dimarzio a few years and tried fishman a few years and went back to EMG’s for me they are perfect, the thing is you don’t need a lot of extra stuff with EMG pickups it’s like a built in compressor and tube screamer! Works great for how I set up my rig!

I miss my EMG 81/85 set in a guitar and thinking of dropping in my C24. Stock pickups in a C24 just arent cutting it for me even in a bedroom setting.

I think the same way as you Mike, I always want a guitar with just the rear pickup, a volume & tone like the guitars Jerry Cantrell or Warren DeMartini made custom. It's not the brand of the guitar, it's just what you need for how you play (Beavis)

Dude is funny love how simple he is im like that with my guitars too. Dont care about wood and all that blablabla give me something pritty, stable tunning with high output pickups and please for the lover of god no trem. Also sounds like he would love an evertune bridge.

I like the Dimarzio X2N for metal… It’s been around forever, not trendy at all. It’s find it to be like a passive EMG 81.

Comments on the track are off. So I came here. I think a lyrical version of 'regret not" with Phil on the distortion part and Tim pool on the acoustic side... With lyrics themed to title, about no regrets/moving on past issues struggles or poor choices. .. would be a really good message and amazing track. And I think it could make an impact to bring people who would not otherwise listen to metal if hosted on Tim's channel. That's a track I've listened to hundreds of times. And is my all time favorite track of any genre. It was the guitar and drums that made me love ATR, and I don't say this to belittle the instrumental. But this year I really started to believe it's missing the message. And as if the universes spirits or God himself didn't throw Tim the ability, talent, platform, and friendship with Phil. You could stretch the length of it, even add another guitar solo. And create a new guitar part for a main chorus section. My first thought months ago was just Phil singing on regret not would be an amazing track. But today I think Tim and Phil together on the two parts would be even better. If it doesn't happen I'll probably just try to cover it myself with lyrics in a year or two when I'm good enough on my guitar. But y'all should think about it 😜🤔
