I needed this! My mom and I got into a horrible fight because of her support for Trump. Usually we just disagree and move on because we have our right to choose. The timing is bad too because it's my youngest sons bday party today. For the record & because words have meaning.... What she is describing, blaming others for the actions taken by the blamer, is projection. The term gaslight comes from the time when house lighting was provided by gas lamps, turn one on in a different room the lamps everywhere else will flicker. When someone is gaslighting you, they are attempting to convince you that the flicker you saw wasn't real, that the light in the other room was never turned on. It's a form of manipulation to make you doubt what you saw with your own eyes or doubt what you heard with your own ears. Omg, yes! I met an ancient woman yesterday. She was so appalled about Iran and drumpf. I said, maybe he should stop talking about bloodshed, fighting, nukes, etc? She said! Oh he is such a nice man! You know he never said any of that! I said, I watched he say it, on his favorite tv channels and favorite news channels. She said it’s all fake. He is just the nicest person. OMG!
