Valigarmanda EX / Worqor Lar Dor (Extreme) Guide - FFXIV Dawntrail EX Trial Guide

I didn't really include many strat diagrams here, or bother with making them move, because this fight is super straight forward and is generally what you see is what you get. There's a lot of leniency in your positioning, so with some practise the clear will be yours! I have included a spoiler free thumbnail for the first week of the expansion - I'll swap it out with the real one next week. Hopefully this will help you beat Valigarmanda!

Blind prog is always really fun, for the first ex trials I don’t wanna speed run msq, but I also don’t want to upset the party finder crews so I watch the guide first. On raid days I like getting as far as I can before the guides drop

I was about to ask how you saw enrage and you just explained it lol. Ye the dps check is more than lenient it was almost impossible to see cause you either wipe from not having enough mits/heals from the raid wide or you win.

To get into the fight you need 690 ilvl. Is that only from the last dungeon?

You get 690 left side for free from your MSQ - usually you'll queue in via Party Finder or premade and ilvl requirements don't exist there. Right side comes from dungeons though yeah

Never done an EX before (I assume unsynching it and bonking ifrit in one hit does not count) so I'm wondering: Is EX content premade-exclusive? This level of coordination seems hard to do with people you're not in a voicechat with, but there's both PF and extreme roulette so I wonder if I need to assemble a group or if it is usual to just go in and hope for the best.

just join a PF, or make your own, and have a try at it ^^

You can go in party finder and join a practice party, where the goal isn't necessarily to clear the fight but just to practice the mechanics. Just expect to wipe over and over again and talk about what went wrong or what to do next time in between the wipes. If you're lucky, you'll get a clear :3

Ex ^^ YoshiP mentioned wanting to challenge players more, that's probably why it looks daunting. In the end all that's needed is practice and a bit of coordination + a lot of stuff can just be dodged by following where the group goes (As usual :D)^^

@@kevinurlaub3810 I went to do this with my FC, and it went very well. The team leader called out the mechanics, making this a much better experience. We cleared 2 out of 4 attempts. With a pug, I would have been lickin' the floor the entire time.
