The certification of this series (among many other things) is just all over the place. There's no bad language at all, there's cutsie little leprechauns singing songs...then suddenly there's a fight scene where a guy's wrist is violently and visibly snapped in half and another guy's face is smashed into a wall splashing blood on the lense...then it's back to the leprechauns...then a guy get's mauled by a warg and you see his guts get pulled out. Like seriously who is the target audience? Five year olds with blood lust?

But the point is: the woman they are portraying is a horrible petulant arrogant brat who threatens anyone, including her life savers, just because they won't submit to her will. And this is not even a good role model, this is a horrible arrogant human being they are portraying. Young or old doesn't give you the right to be a petulant spoiled child. Clearly, the writers of this disaster confound arrogance with strength of character and want to promote a society of violent brats. Which is more or less how the dumbest people would behave. They are afraid to show us a diplomatic, elegant lady who seeks compromises that cleverly advance her purposes while meeting the needs of others simply because they associate compromise and diplomatic skills with weakness. They would probably side with the bullies! This Galadriel mockery is a disgrace and all humans (men, women and transgender alike) should be advised to avoid imitating her uncouth arrogance! I would be ashamed if any young person, let alone a woman, behaved in such a horrible way in self-righteous despise of any basic rules of social interaction! She's the most annoying character ever portrayed since Jar-Jar Binx!

Honestly, after ep3 I'm in a tinfoil zone, and totally certain that everyone who is positive about this show has been paid by Amazon. I was able to watch ep 1 and 2 for hatewatching, but I just can't stomach ep3, I physically can't, Jesus, this isn't just bad, or so bad it's fun to watch, it is disgustingly unwatchable.

The other thing about Galadriel being young and 'having time to grow' ... (A) she's already thousands of years old at this point so she's not young, BUT also.... (B) a certain degree of growth in a character is believable, and can deliver a good character arc. However it can't be a MASSIVE change...that just won't seem like it's the same person, because it's not believable. That's why Reva's 'turn' at the end of the Kenobi series didn't pay off. Somehow she went from happily cutting off people's hands on a whim and persecuting (no doubt including killing) Jedi and Force sensitive adults/kids, to someone who actually has a conscience? Nope, not believable. Now this Galadriel is SOOO different from the Galadriel in the source text, that regardless of her age, *it is not believable* that she would eventually become the one we know. Sadly, I am not surprised, Hollywood and especially anything woke seems to specialise in super ham-fisted storytelling only these days.

Is it that hard to believe? When you were young, you sat down and enjoyed the fantasy world of lord of the rings. Your younger self would look at you now and think “why is he so angry? I’m just happy enjoying this magical world” and an older you may look back and think “who was that guy, hating things for silly reasons rather than just enjoying them?”. The world of LOTR that younger me enjoyed when I read the books, and then more than a decade later on screen in Peter Jackson's films _is nowhere to be seen in TROP_ . So my "younger self" wouldn't ask "why is he so angry?". My younger self would say "why the hell are they so drastically changing something that people already love so much?". For other examples of Hollywood taking an existing world and showing no respect, look at overall audience reactions to the recent HALO and Wheel of Time series. Not to mention Kenobi and Book of Boba Fett. And your comment about Galadriel being in the "middle phase" makes no sense. Early life, middle life, late life, doesn't matter - the image of her we're seeing here doesn't match up even a little bit with the lore. So you're gonna have to do better than that imo. Maybe you can talk about how this massive change in her personality is any more believable than Reva's 'change of heart' in Kenobi (which nobody with half a brain was buying)? Ball, court, yours. But if you can't come up with something that makes more sense, I'm not gonna bother replying =)

This series hasn't broken the lore. It's shredded it and burned it to ashes. Second Age Galadriel is supposed to be close to, or identical to her Third Age self. She's NOT 'young' anymore. Also I'd never read about her being a warrior.. And I definitely never read about her being a miserable, rude b****. And no wonder Celeborn went AWOL. I'd have done the same if I had to wake up next to THAT face every morning.

Exactly, I read a bit about her in extra and found out that she was indeed prideful and wanting to establish a region to rule, but this was as I recall in the First Age. So they are off course with this depiction of her in the Second Age.

I love how all the other elves got caught. How did this happen? Didn't they say they were leaving so why they still here? Did all of them just go down a tunnel and run like a coward and end up here like him? We literally will never know. Knowing the writers I don't think they could come up with a single decent idea so they just ignored it like every other plot hole in this show like Sauron scribbling his secret base's location every where for no good reason including on Finrod's corpse. Than there's the tunnel which is really a trench and apparently the elves couldn't spot a trench several 100's of meters long and wide. Along with all the trees that have been cut down. How do you miss that on patrols? Are the elves blind? Ah no sorry it's just lazy writing. I hope these writers know you don't have to stick with your first draft you can rewrite things.

Why are people suggesting Guyladriel will 'develop' into a likeable/good character? I've never in my life watched a show or movie where the main character is written to start out as someone I loath with every fiber of my being to then develop into someone I like. I know someone might come up with a show that did do it at some point but I'm just talking from my experience of watching tons of movies and shows. The ones I loved and enjoyed have always had likeable main characters that I can relate to/root for and get to know. When I watched Jackson's Lord of the Rings I loved every main character as soon as I met them! It's plainly obvious Guyladriel was written the way she was as some sort of female power trip for the writers. She will only get more angry/crass/annoyed/overbearing and shown to be 'the bestest ever at everything ever in the entire world' as the show goes on.

for those who are not familiar with "Silmarillion" from the initial episodes, and so far, one key factor is missing from all Tolkien's books (including the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies) no elven songs not one For The Lord of the Rings there is some kind of lame explanation that they didn't have "time/space" in three movies in all the books everybody describe the elves and their songs This series lacks "romance" (I don't mean love scenes) and sophistication, like the old 007 this series is a pure copy of Game of Thrones in mentality, raw, rough, violent and boring already seen and chewed They are trying to sell Galadriel as a female Conan, instead of playing on elven femininity and loveliness

The criticism is not that an Elf cannot do what she does, simply that it is not Galadriels character. Her powers were wisdom, incredible insight and perception to the point of mind reading and foresight, able to read people, making her exceptionally important as a voice and leader. She was able to see through Saurons powerful disguises, and never fully trusted Saruman, seeing his flaws and lust for power, which is why she always preferred the council and friendship of Gandalf. She saw him as the true leader of the Istari wizards which did of course eventually come to be. The issue is that Amazon have utterly failed to see what made Galadriel so interesting, wise and powerful, and instead turned her into some Xena knock off. My sister after watching original LOTR felt connected with Galadriel and believe it or not became a wise woman her self. what is youth to think from watching this ?let us be Egoistical self proclaimed warrior that hates all men ? show me Tolkien written words that claim Galadriel is a Xena on steroids ? or hates all men ? or that all men around her are depicted as week,dumb,lack of courage . i am all for a strong female character but they ruined her original form . in short do you know what makes a men great ? a great female by his side. same goes vise versa yet the new age woke culture does not get it. hence why this show has failed and is getting 10 k likes vs 300 k dislikes in over all comment sections . that is a HUGE fail. i dont think i have ever seen so much dislikes vs likes on some other series or movie. so obviously the majority says NO thank you..

I started watching episode 3 today but shut it off about 17 minutes in. Thanks for showing me that I didn’t miss anything. Also, did anyone notice that one of the cadets was named Imrahil (at 16:22 and 17:43)? Prince Imrahil was obviously 3rd age since he was present during the siege of Minas Tirith. Are they trying to suggest that this flake was the zillioneth great-grandfather of the Prince of Dol Amroth? A bit of a stretch if you ask me! Nah, shes young *for an ELF.* Thats not the same as young for a human. Elfs barely age physically after age 35 or 40 but their mind age and functions pretty much same as ours. This is WHY theyre graceful, wise and dont act rashly... They have EONS of experience and knowladge. I dont remember exactly, its been a good 25 years since I read the books but Im pretty sure an Elf is considered a fully grown adult at about 100 years of age. 2000 years is still "young" in comparison to how long they live and how old their still living elders are... but Galadriel is not fakking young. In this show shes AT LEAST 2000 years old. If you follow the original lore I believe that would put her closer to 5000 years old. I could be wrong, as I said its been a long time. But I digress... All of this is not really relevant, its just things that pisses me off. Whats really makes this argument look like a swizz cheeze submarine is this. Unless the people making these type of arguments "but shes young in this version" are literally telling us that Elves has a learning ability on par with a bag of hammers, this argument does not hold up. If anything, Elves are supposed to be superior in intellect, why the FAKK cant Galadriel, in *2000 or even 5000 years*, learn what every normal human learns in 15-30? Its absolute garbage. The main actress's acting is so incredibly wooden, I struggle to find an explanation as to why she has been in big movies at all. It's the direction of the character too, of course, and the writing, but her acting is legit strange. What a downgrade from Cate Blanchett. * To add, Jackson's Galadriel was not even close to being the main character, yet she was SO memorable. While Amazon's Galadriel, being the main character in a whole series, is so painfully lackluster, she seems like a doll, not a living, breathing being, that you can understand and empathise with.
