RIP Jason David Frank, the Green Ranger 💚

Actor Jason David Frank, best known for starring in the original “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” TV franchise, has died, according to multiple reports citing his representative.
The actor died in Texas, his representative Justine Hunt told TMZ.
According to People, Frank’s representative asked for privacy for the actor’s family and friends, as they “come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being.”

The representative did not provide a cause of death.
Frank played Green Ranger Tommy Oliver in the popular 1990s series and took on various roles in subsequent Power Rangers projects. The “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” series sparked the popular kids’ franchise.
Most recently, he filmed “Legend of the White Dragon,” a film that was partially funded with a Kickstarter and included other past “Power Rangers” cast members. Frank was also an avid mixed martial artist.
He was 49 years old.

I was browsing through KZbin when I came across this short last night. This was how I found out the news. The first thought through my head was… ‘no. Surely not?’ and I went on to the internet and typed in his name in my search engine. Before I had even finished typing his name, the headline appeared, Jason David Frank, Power Rangers icon dead at 49. It literally took my breath away. At 23, I’ve been an unashamed power rangers fan my whole life. I hated school and never connected well with people but it wouldn’t matter to me because I could go home and the Rangers would be there in my safe space. Tommy was never my favourite but he always meant so much to me, he was the ranger we all knew. He was the guy the villains could never keep down. He was the ranger who kept coming back. Who else could don 5 different ranger suits but Tommy? And Jason was the talented actor who kept him alive and made us treasure the memories we had of Rangers. RIP JDF and thank you 💚🤍❤️❤️🖤

this is me today finding out about my favorite childhood hero. it just killed me inside. i used to get bullied all the time as a kid and all i would think of was how if the green ranger was here he would kick they @$$es for me.i have a funko of Tommy i was holding onto for a few years, was telling the wife ill get this signed ill get this signed ill get this signed. i was going to get it signed the next time he was at comic con or anywhere i could get my hands on him. i shouldn't have waited, didn't think someone so strong could die like that. guess ill never get that signature and i know if i asked him for his autograph he woulda been super happy to sign my Funko. this one hurt. RIP Green Ranger you'll always be my hero.

It still unbelievable that he’s gone. I didn’t watch MMPR, but I experienced Tommy through Dino Thunder. Absolutely loved him as the mentor. When my mum caught me she'd ask how many power rangers episodes I watched and that's how she knew how long I was up. 3 episodes meant I was awake for 90 minutes.

I've met him a few times. I was young and at my karate school when i just finished up with class, as he walks in my mother asks for me to take a picture with him. He scoops me up into his arms and posed with me. He even stayed to chat. He was such a kind and talented man. I even have that picture on my wall. I also dont think I'd ever forget that day. I've met him a few other times but that time was the most special to me and i wish i could have enjoyed it more. Rest easy legend ❤🙏🕊
