You really don’t know how enjoyable you make my Sunday morning coffee. Brilliant video, more stunning views, great location and incredible history thrown in. Did the ancient people ever think that they would leave something behind that people would still see thousands of years later. Must admit I felt a bit of vertigo as you approached those final paintings. Thanks Karl.

Glad you enjoyed it Andrew. I’m sure that they would never have guessed. I wonder if people will be watching Karl’s Thailand in thousands of years time? 😂

This was such an enjoyable day and sitting on the edge of that cliff looking over the jungle canopy was awesome. So glad that we decided to ignore the sign and take the path that was prohibited because that was definitely the highlight of this adventure. I can only assume that path was closed because it's so perilous. I didn't really appreciate how much so until I watched this video, from the perspective of the video it looks really dangerous. Great fun and I'm definitely up for more cliff based exploring in the future!
@karlsthailandАй бұрын
That last location was a great surprise to me Sam, so glad we pushed on too. But yes, it was very narrow path. I'm sure we'll do more stuff together in the future. Cheers

@davidslowhand5172Ай бұрын
I've been there a couple of times, and both times it was stunning and very hot. Thanks for this video Karl, it brought back so many good memories, and to think it was once the bottom of the sea. There are some wonderful places to explore in Ubon Ratchathani, but the rock painting cliff walk must be one of the most memorable. Did you visit the mushroom rocks or the Sang Chan Waterfall, along with some of the many temples around that area?. Was the spectacular candle festival taking place while you were there? I really enjoy your hikes around the lesser known/less touristy parts of Thailand. They take me back to when I was young & fit and first discovered how wonderful Thailand really is, I look forward to watching your adventures on KZbin
@karlsthailandАй бұрын
We visited nearby Pha Sok )in my previous video) earlier the same day and Ubon Province is featured in my next video too. No, we were just too hot and tired, it was baking hot. The only time I saw the candle festival was my first visit to Ubon Ratchathani n 1989. Cheers

Nice one Karl. 👏🏼 not been there for 12-15 years. My wife still has her lock screen on her phone of a picture of us together looking over the Mekong near the starting point from so many years ago ❤ Don’t remember the 4th set but do remember regretting doing the 4km loop 😰 I seem to remember something of interest on the last part of the loop?? Maybe dinosaurs footprints or something similar. We’ll have to go back again sometime 💙🇹🇭
@karlsthailandАй бұрын
Thanks for your comments. Wow, I missed some dinosaur footprints? That’s a pity. Cheers

@karlsthailandАй бұрын
They’re certainly well protected compared to other places I’ve been to in Thailand but it’s nothing compared to say Stonehenge. I didn’t notice any razor wire but it’s possible. Cheers
